This is probably one of the only webcomics which I would buy in print in a heartbeat.
Erfworld (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/erf0001.html)

I... I don't know what I'm reading. But it is 4:30am and I can't stop.

It is very awesome. My particular nomination for Crowning Moment of Awesome:
SPOILER:
Making (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/erf0147.html) an undead (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/erf0148.html) volcano (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/erf0150.html).

Erfworld is pretty cool you guys.
-
But the updates are so irregular
-
The guy gets ill quite a lot according to one of his newsposts which is why the update cycle is random rather than regular.
Those of you who have been readers a long time know that I tend to go in cycles with the strip: a few weeks on time, followed by a few weeks where most of the comics are late (and some days are missed altogether). Oftentimes, I’ll make an announcement afterwards that I was sick. The thing is, I get sick a lot, and that’s not likely to change in the future. For more than two years, I’ve been experiencing a medical condition that often leaves me unable to work (or even sit at the computer) for 2-3 days at a time, and the symptoms tend to come and go in clumps. I’ll be fine for a few weeks, then have a few really bad weeks where I struggle to get any work done. This is part of the reason I never can manage to create a “buffer” of strips in advance: I spend all of my working time catching up on stuff I was supposed to finish while I was sick. (No, I’m not going to tell you exactly what is wrong with me; it’s nobody’s business.
On the comic point though i really like Erfworld and also Order of The Stick. The writing is consistently good and the art, though fairly basic (for OoTS) is pretty good aswell.

The guy you quoted is Rich Burlew, the author of OOTS. I don't know why Jamie Nogouichi and the writer for Erfworld don't update so often, but it's not for that reason.
Side note- I'm incredibly bummed that OOTS is up to irregular updates as it is so AWESOME.
-
Oh, well, yeah, that guy is OoTS guy. I just thought they were linked together being on the same page before.
Anyway, erfworld now has its own webpage.

Book I ended today.
Erfworld is so different, it's definitely worth taking a look to see if it catches your brain.
-
Fuck, this is getting so good I wish they had more than one actual page update per week. I am so fucking stoked for what is happening in Erfworld.
-
True. That. Also if you ever want a laugh, check out the reactions page on the forum. People were pissed with how overpowered turnamancy turned out to be. I think half of them are planning or already conducting home brewed games based on their interpretations of the Erfworld rules or something.
Come to think of it, if Balder doesn't come out with a Rule Book after the series is done, he's missing an opportunity there. Of course if he does it while the series is still ongoing, his life will become a living hell as every nerdy rule lawyer (basically 3/4 of his audience) complains about the inaccuracies in every single strip....
One of the things I like most about the series is that "Retconjuration" is actually one of the schools of magic, although it wasn't originally, he retconned it in. Damn Rob. That's pretty awesome.
-
I especially liked how it is a subcategory of naughtymancy.
-
And the spell names of shockamancy spells!

I liked this webcomic for a time. The story is quite original, the art is ok, and the character are lovable.
But, since they left the Giantitp.com website... I have completely lost interest in it. It is not a webcomic anymore... it has lost everything I thought was nice.
I dont know... the new website and story... and not of my interest (I am not saying it is bad). I wish it went back to what it used to be.
-
Nostalgia just isn't what it used to be.

Wow, I just started reading this the other day (when I saw this thread bumped up), and it is really good so far. Really really compelling. I always see it when I check to see if OoTS had updated, but never actually looked at it. I really love the art style, and the way the language is used.
I cannot wait till I catch up with it (is it still updating, even if sporadically?)
-
It's updating about once a week, thought after the first book he switched to alternating Comic-posts and text-only story posts.

I don't know if it's socially acceptable to post in this thread at the moment or what, but I just discovered Erfworld through this thread and have been reading it over the last few nights. Book 1 was brilliant, but so far Book 2 hasn't grabbed me. I think it comes down to the fact that when I want to read a webcomic, I want it to be webcomicy. When I want exposition, I'll read a book. I don't have a short attention span, but it really doesn't seem to work.
