Title: The Great QC PC Swappening 2009
Post by: Trollstormur on 18 Mar 2009, 20:13
Come one, come all to The Great QC PC Swappening!

What is a PC Swappening, you ask? It's pretty simple, do you have some computer parts or electronics you're not using and are just taking up precious space? Well, put it up for the swappening!

Take one piece of hardware or software, and offer it for cheap or free here. I'll start us off with some bits I've collected herein.

For the price it costs me to ship it to you, I have available:
 2 80gig HD (eide) and
1 Motherboard and Processor combo. The Motherboard is an Asus 87v8x-x, and the processor is an AMD Athlon 2200+, clocks in at 1.6ghz. It is a single core processor, but it still runs well.
In addition, I have 1.5 gigabytes (in 512mb stick form) DDR400 RAM. The RAM goes with the motherboard and processor, but I suppose I could offer them separately. DDR400 is really freakin' cheap online, you could probably nab like 5 gigs for 10bux

I live in the northwestern united states, but I'm basically willing to ship them anywhere if you pony up the green. (or pink/purple if you live in brazil.)

Man, this whole thing sounds like a great idea, but I already pass my old gear off to family when I'm done with it.

You're about 3 weeks too late to collect on a nice mobo/[email protected]/2gb/1900XTX combo I gave to a friend, but I've still got an X1950PRO I can ship. You pay S&H from BC.

An old-ass monitor that is pretty huge. In perfect shape. Twenty-five bucks?

How much would that be to England?

I'll dig around and see if I have anything I don't want or need.

I have an old PCI-E video card (probably pretty good as of 2 years ago) and a video card fan (won't fit in my case) if anybody wants them.

Really? It's not that big or heavy, I guess it's a bit delicate  but apart from that I can't imagine it costing more than a few quid.

Shipping across the US border is some $20USD. if taxation is similar across the Atlantic I can see it bring pretty pricey. I can check, though.

I think the US are just shitcocks about that kinda thing. I had to pay some tax for an art print I bought from someone in the US, sending Andy (Canadia) a CD (and marking it as a gift) hasn't incurred any charges on my end.
