As it sounds. On your iPod, is there anyway to shuffle the songs on a playlist, rather than have then play through in the order they were added?
I realise that this question could well be answered by the simple task of reading the instructions, but you have to appreciate that I am a man, and real men don't read the instructions....

Real men are idiots.

it depends on the ipod. The touch can shuffle playlists, but I know the nano can't, and probably none of the other ones.
-
Dude seriously?
Main Menu > Settings > Shuffle > Songs
Then just select the playlist.
Alternatively just go to the bottom of the main menu, select "Shuffle All" and then go to the playlist.
Dude, seriously.

Seriously.
Real men are idiots.
How friendly.

Also Dennis they can all, including the Nano (which is what I have), shuffle the playlists.
Leonidas I know you don't read instructions and I don't mean to be condescending but come on, this one is so simple.
-
I was only asking. Jeez......
-
Man I don't know. I'm being an arse. It's a legit question, I'm sorry.
We cool?
-
I never doubted for a second it was a simple proceedure and I was missing a simple trick. But better to ask then carry on in blind ignorance...
But "we cool dawg...."

take two halves of your playlist in either hand. bow them outwards, but towards each other with your thumbs facing, letting the songs slip from your thumb at a similar pace, the songs will fall each upon one another, then you can slide the playlist together in it's newly shuffled state. lifting the backs with the heels of your hands to form the bridge is optional but does two things: it bends the songs back the other way so they don't get bent too far one way, and looks really cool.
next up: pile shuffling: 8 or 10 piles for tournament play?
-
Huh. How about that.
I have both a Nano and a Touch and I guess I never really bothered with playlists on the nano. I was assuming the "Shuffle" setting applied only to the "Shuffle Songs" command.

Well, they did bury that feature note on page 25 of the manual for my ipod nano, and it's not exactly intuitive, so you can probably forgive us.

Dude I know that violent crime is crazy in the UK but I, for one, do not grab my mp3 player in the morning thinking "this thing could save my life today." Besides which I put my iPod in my back pocket. If I am going to get shot chances are it will not be in the butt.

I'm going to hunt you down and shoot you in the butt.
