There can only be one winner. CHOOSE YOUR PREFERED NINETIES BOY BAND.
-
NSYNC is for losers.
-
Kill them both.
-
This is not even fair. *NSYNC is clearly the Best.
Bye Bye Bye > I Want It That Way
Justin Timberlake > Nick Carter
Also, aren't the Backstreet Boys Still around, trying to be relevant? At least *NSYNC quit while they were still ahead.
-
What is wrong with you people. *NCYNC is so dreamyyy. I bet it is all stupid boys voting on this poll who just don't get it in the first place.
-
no dude, backstreets were way catchy. never had an nsync song stuck in my head.
-
Truth. Everybody (Backstreet's Back) is just the right kind of overblown horror and it just works. I cannot think of a single song by NSYNC off the top of my head. Plus, they get bonus points for their ridiculously homoerotic name.
-
N*Sync, moar like N*STINK
I saw the Backstreet Boys in the 6th grade. First concert I ever went to. Incredibly brilliant.
-
See, this is what I'm saying. None of you have ever been a 13 year old girl who listened to these albums over and over because cute boys were singing to your heart.
Backstreet boys were so whiny. Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely? Don't Wanna Lose You Now? The Call? The Perfect Fan?
*NSYNC you could dance to. Bye Bye Bye. It's Gonna Be Me. Bringin' Da Noise. Dirty Pop.
Plus their cheesy love songs were dedicated to girls, not their mother.
-
KILL THEM ALL
KILL
-
Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch > all of them.
-
I was an N'Sync kid.
Thank God it's Friday night and I
just-just-just-just-juuuuuuust got paid
(money, money, money, money...)
yeah, ohh...
-
why you gotta break my heart, man?
-
Around the same age that I saw the BSB live I was considering writing a Gundam Wing songfic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Songfic) set to their song "More Than That".
-
why you gotta break my heart, man?
IT'S NOT MY FAAULLLT
/wrists
I'll give you that BBoys have had more staying power, though. But I listened almost exclusively to N'Sync (the exception being that ridiculous "Who Let the Dogs Out" song), so I've gotta stick with my roots.
-
N*SYNC were my first favourite band.
-
I DON'T CARE WHO YOU ARE, WHERE YOU'RE FROM, WHAT YOU DID, AS LONG AS YOU LOVE ME
8-)
-
N*Sync, moar like N*STINK
I really dislike you.
-
I was an N'Sync kid.
I was a Beatles kid. Yes, at the same time those two... for lack of better words appropriate for this forum, bands, were popular.
-
man i was all about the backstreet boys. they were crunk as shit!
-
Prediction, in the way that hipster is, Backstreet Boys will eventually win out because everyone finally admitted to liking JT and by liking JT you have to have *always* liked him there for you like N*Sync too. Because that made N*Sync the popular boy band of that era they lose all hipster cred and Backstreet Boys are the de facto winners.
Now to vote.
*post vote*
Wellllllllll looky here, 15 to 8 for Backstreet Boys
-
How do you guys even know songs by bands like this?
Are you just all secretly enormous fags?
-
WHOA. WHOA. Gay jokes in boy band threads are outta line, bucko.
-
I still don't like JT.
-
Seriously why do you know songs by these bands? Much less have opinions on them.
If it is not for your lust for the clean, smooth innocence of their members* what could it be.
*pun intended.
-
I'm predicting it's because the average age of the people who've posted so far at the time these bands were big was eight.
That's my excuse anyway.
-
yo the comparison to "i want it that way" isn't "bye bye bye" it's "gone" and if you go "hm, 'i want it that way' vs. 'gone'" and then choose backstreet boys you have a problem in your brain
-

board full of internet-using teens and adults capable of making value judgments on top 40 music, film at fuckin whatever time
-
I still don't like JT.
actually FutureSex/LoveSounds is a pretty legit album.
-

Just about.
I went to England when I was six years old, saw the Beatles museum in Liverpool. Didn't like that old crap then, though, I wanted good music, like *NSYNC and Britney Spears
It turns out that I do know shame after all
-
Wait wait wait wait wait.
NSYNC
N*SYNC
*NSYNC
Before this thread goes any further, can we please have a definitive answer on exactly where in the band-name that silly little asterisk goes, if anywhere? I cannot assess the merits of the group without this vital information.
-
According to wiki, it's *NSYNC. But, nobody cares, really.
-
Wiki says: 'N Sync (often stylized *NSYNC) was an American pop group.
Was. Heheh. Somehow, the 'was' makes me crack up.
-
But, nobody cares, really.
Clearly you weren't paying close enough attention to my post.
-

no secrets here

Clearly you weren't paying close enough attention to my post.
My apathetic mood towards 'N*Sy$44nc^&4@@ must have carried over to my response... =P

Fixed, you apathetic...oh fuck it.
-
Backstreet Boys for sure.
N*Sync got a whole lot better after everyone who isn't Justin Timberlake left.
-
ppppppppopopop...opopop
N*Sync yo :-D
-
I remember the BT-produced Pop being quite a jam - I was listening to lots of Autechre and Aphex Twin at the time and suddenly felt like it was them turned pop with all the granular synthesis stuff BT did.
Then of course there was Girlfriend remixed by The Neptunes which foreshadowed where Justin would head off to ... so yeah, had to go with *N*NNSNU*HC
-
The correct answer is Westlife because they're hard as nails.
-
Even the Jonas Brothers could beat up Westlife, man.
-
I still don't like JT.
actually FutureSex/LoveSounds is a pretty legit album.
Some people might like it but I really have little interest in listening to a dude try and turn himself into Prince lite right down to the goofy ass lyrical obsession with sex.
-
Actually, I take my BSB answer back.
The correct answer is Rockapella (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_thiCLihMU).
-
That appears to be not so much a boy-band as a man-band.
-
I saw *Nsync when I was but a wee lass of 11 years old. Live in concert! I almost died of happiness, I think.
-
Backstreet male bitches.
-
Backstreet was my preference! Also, I listened to both bands extensively. So extensively.
-
I still can't work this out.
I mean, I have never heard a song by either of these groups.
Why would you want to?
-
Because people tend to hear the popular music of their age by existing in the current world.
And often times pop music is quite catchy as it is designed to be.
-
But where do you hear it? When?
I am so confused!
-
Radio, in public places that play music, with friends that listen to said music, at school dances, on tv.
-
obnoxious ringtones on the bus, blasting out of car stereos
-
I can't believe Backstreet Boys are winning. I am deeply disappointed in all of you.
-
That appears to be not so much a boy-band as a man-band.
The term 'man-band' terrifies me. It sounds like it should only apply to the Village People.
Also: I voted for the syncy* people
*I put the asterisk at the end, how ironic
-
Fuck you all, I vote 98 degrees

bitches

If you've never heard a song by either of these bands, how do you know you don't want to?
Next up in this thread, Khar starts diggin' on 90s boy bands.

N*Sync, moar like N*STINK
I saw the Backstreet Boys in the 6th grade. First concert I ever went to. Incredibly brilliant.
First big-venue concert for me was N*Sync, summer of 2000. Fuckin' loved it.
I want to sing "Drive Myself Crazy" for my little TV show, I think that'd be amazing.
-
Fuck you all, I vote 98 degrees
pic
bitches
Almost made this joke
Decided against it
Went with Duran Duran instead. I overshot the time machine.
-

NOT my friend.
-
Guys guys guys
LFO omg omg "Summer Girls"
-
Ok look, if we are trying to have a gay-off about which boy band was the biggest cheese, let me submit article B44:

-
Later, those twins went on to a Josh Groban-style "pop classical" career in London, England, where they remain to this day.
-
Who allowed those twats near the Clorox and the hair glue
-
Why was my first thought 'k.d. lang triplets!' when I saw that? Hm. I wonder.
On second glance they don't look like her, but I can't help first impressions...
-
Well how do you know they are bands huh huh Khar huh you FAG
-
Oh holy fuckshit, I actually clicked the link for the video. I think "Jugulardogman" put it best: "wow. i didnt know that gay super sayian carrots existed. "
Also, for an honest critique, that song is probably the best example of shitty, godawful autotuned horsefuckery I have ever experienced in my life. Also, really, REALLY weak sexual innuendos.
I am going to torture everybody I know with this now.
-
Told ya, I mean, life jackets wut?
And for the record, Khar, I know about this because I have ears and exist in the world.
-
Chris Kirkpatrick from Nsync is from my hometown...his grandmother was a 3rd grade teacher at the elementary school I went to.
I guess I have to vote for that guy.
-
And for the record, Khar, I know about this because I have ears and exist in the world.
So do I, and yet I have never heard a song that I could consciously attribute to either of these artists.
You see my dilemma?
-
Homeschooling on a little island has its advantages?
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KluRW21oAiY
It's sort of disturbing that the video is essentially them singing very obvious sexual innuendo to what appears to be a 13 year old.
-
Chris Kirkpatrick from Nsync
So THAT'S who the fuck that is. Apparently he could get his ass whipped worse than them little Limp Bizkit bastards.
-
So do I, and yet I have never heard a song that I could consciously attribute to either of these artists.
Cultural differences? We are from North America
-
That video is something. I can't think of what that something is at the moment because I'm sobbing too violently to use proper syntax. The earrings were the straw that broke the camel's back, it seems.
Although I will say, any chance of there existing an *NSYNCore band somewhere? With, like, thrash metal renditions of your teeny-bop favorites?
-
I like how this poll started like, 11 to 2. *NSYNC, MOVIN' UP THE LADDER!
-
I don't know about thrash*SYNC but I know I like to do really geeky versions of songs. Marilyn Manson and Katy Perry are the best.
I kissed a girl and *snort, giggle, shy look* ...I liked it.
-
I mean, I have never heard a song by either of these groups.
Why would you want to?
If you've never heard a song by either of these bands, how do you know you don't want to?
Next up in this thread, Khar starts diggin' on 90s boy bands.
Indeed.
-
I have to give 'nsync my vote. Nick Carter was cooler back in the day, but 'n sync had the decency to quit early on. Also I think bye bye bye was better then any of the backstreet boys' tunes.
-
Is it too late to vote for Hanson?
...
-
Technically speaking, a boyband is any band with no females in it.
-
Oh. Oops.
-
Technically speaking, a boyband is any band with no females in it.
In that case, nominating these guys:

-
If we're running by Zombiedude's definition,
RUSH
If we're going by the more accurate version, which adds "the members of which do not play any instruments", N*Sync.

-
In before New Edition (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9bLGRqHcB0)
-
if duos count then the correct answer is Hall & Oates
-
Johnny speaks the truth here.
-
Although, to be honest, that's just because I'd throw Hall and Oates up against damn near anyone and declare them the winner.
Except for Ray Charles.
-
This poll is gonna close in two hours. The winner at the end of it I am gonna take to the 24 Hour May 2009 thread and ask people to submit covers for a tribute album.
-
I will string up my dulcimer and do instrumental renditions of such
-
Technically speaking, a boyband is any band with no females in it.
In that case, nominating these guys:
Seconding.

you know this to be true.
-
This poll is gonna close in two hours. The winner at the end of it I am gonna take to the 24 Hour May 2009 thread and ask people to submit covers for a tribute album.
Yes!
-
For the record, the poll ended like 5 1/2 hours ago, the Backstreet Boys already won by four votes. I'm just unable to lock the poll so I'm waiting for a mod to show up. I forgot to add a deadline and you can't edit them in after votes are counted. I got big ideas for future Deathpolls. Watch this space.
Anyway, WTF! So close! Unbelievable! The Backstreet Boys started with such a huge lead! I was almost scared for a while. Weird, it's mostly dudes on the music forum and *nsync are totally for chicks.
-
I *SO* call dibs on "I Want It That Way" oh my god if any of you fuckers so much as TOUCH that song...
-
Too late dude, go to the OTHER thread.
