Wonder how far in the future we will be Monday?
Wonder what's the longest span between Jeph's tweets?
-
Don't you mean March 65-69?
(Or perhaps April 34-38)
((Or September 5725-5729*))
*A cookie to anybody who gets THAT joke.
-
two years from now, someone will be browsing through old WCT threads looking for fan reaction to [insert next major QC story event here after the fact] and they'll come to the last few weeks and go WT'L?
-
((Or September 5725-5729*))
*A cookie to anybody who gets THAT joke.
That one's got whiskers on it. But then, so does Usenet.
-
Quick, on what day of the week was September 3, 1752?
-
Ambiguous. Unlike February 30, 1712.
-
*prays really hard for the return of Sweet Tits*
-
I was strolling through the park one day
In the very merry month of March
Ai. I've enough trouble recalling what day it is without looking at a calender. Now I'm going to be looking at the wrong month, too.
Thanks, bunches.
Whazzat? No, I don't do anything other than lurk in the forums.
-
That one's got whiskers on it. But then, so does Usenet.
Technically, by some methods of measuring, September 1993 ended.
Of course, that's if you don't count Google Groups.
-
I love Faye when her chain is being yanked!
No, that's not a euphemism, you perverts
-
Faye in a bikini? :wild QC sex fantasies come back:
-
DAMN! We missed out seeing Faye in a Bikini again!!!!
:D
-
Yeeeeeeeeeees! QC just gets better and better every effing weekday. Too bad Jeph is human. If he were a robot he could perpetually make comics and never get tired and none of us would have to feel bad for exploiting him because hey, he's just a robot. Robots are made to work.
-
@Kugai: What do YOU have for a kind of avatar, anyway ?
@ecstaticjoy: Robots have shorter lifespans than humans, right now, though. At most 10-15 years, I think. After that time, the condensers etc get out of order.
-
If Dora really wants to twist the knife, all she has to say is, "Pintsize has the photos..."
-
Looks like it'll be a week of poking fun at each other - yah, those are some of the best!
-
Which Oblique Strategy did you use? Certainly the most generally applicable is the one about stuffing peas down one's pants so as to short circuit their aphroditic effect.
-
Didn't Faye stop drinking? Or did she just cut back?
-
stuffing peas down one's pants
*avoids obvious pee in pants joke*
Whew. Dodged a bullet there.
-
Didn't Faye stop drinking? Or did she just cut back?
I think she just stopped drinking scotch straight from the bottle at work/at home/any time she felt the slightest bit depressed. You know, the "dangerous habit" part, not the "fun social grease" part.
-
What's intriguing is not so much the bikini part as 'overwhelmed' combined with 'bikini.' How overwhelmed? As in 'struggling valiantly,' or 'total wardrobe malfunction'? Precision is important, after all.
I guess we might get an idea if Marten emerges in tomorrow's strip still in a state of shock.

-
No problem...just jump On The Shark.
-
Uh, Jeph, I don't think sharking means what you think it means....
Let's just say that it, like all weird and perverted things these days, has to do with Japan.
-
Today's comic (http://questionablecontent.net./view.php?comic=1397) reminds me of this one, only in reverse:

-
Uh, Jeph, I don't think sharking means what you think it means....
Let's just say that it, like all weird and perverted things these days, has to do with Japan.
what do you mean? is it like a furry thing? only with sharkies?
-
Pennelope in the background made it funnier.
-

More like a run up to women on the street thing, only with penises. And ejaculation.
-
Is Penelope non-verbally braking the fourth wall, as if to say to the audience "at least YOU don'thave to put up with these two at your job!"?
-
No, she's merely thinking that to the universe in general. You simply happen to be in it. It is the best part of the strip, though.
I've seen sharking vids (or so they claimed). I thought it just meant yanking the girl's panties down, or her pants/skirt, or getting her shirt, or unfastening her bra, then running like hell.
But it is the Japanese. I suppose bodily fluids must have a role somewhere
-
Is Penelope non-verbally braking the fourth wall, as if to say to the audience "at least YOU don'thave to put up with these two at your job!"?
I thought it was more like "Great. The day at work has now officially started." Brilliant. xD
-
I took her expression to mean, "Every flippin' day the same thing happens here."
-
one more reason to only sleep with the ladies. :-D
-
Haven't posted 'round here in a while, but I just had to say that Penelope's face totally made my day.
-
One of the better comics in recent memory.
Funny stuff.
-
Hopefully there's no part of sharking that involves recreating the "Smile, you son-of-a('SPLOSION)!" part.
EDIT: On second thought, that might not be so bad.
-
I like how Penny doesn't even seemed fazed by the Dora/Faye antics anymore.
-
Great comic! I love them all lately.
-
As far back as 799 Pennelope mused about how jaded she'd become.
-
Haha - Marten's Twitter:
Why do Faye and Dora keep poking each other?
-
What's that about sharking?
"Imagine you're a travelling rock band called the Vanilla Fudge..."
-
Where's Sherrif Brody when ya need him? :D ;)
Penny's look: 'Same shit, different day.'
-
He's gone fishin'
-
The time to set Tai up with Hanners has come!!!
:D
-
Is it just me or does Marten actually look..... dangerous.... in the last panel?? :-o His eyes are evil looking.
-
Sorry, Tai, but sometimes even puppydog eyes don't work.
And come to think of it, I'm kinda surprised there was nothing special for #1394 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FireWire)...not even a title joke?
-
Personally, I wouldnt oppose my girlfriend having sex with another woman... except I would fear to lose her to that woman.
-
For the first time, the art in the comic actually bothers me.
It's coming across more cartoon-y lately.
-
Tai - the one near constant source of relationship drama in this strip.
Hopefully, we'll find out why Penny looks like someone just told her that its time for her to put down the dog tomorrow (or probably Firday)
-
as someone who is polyamorous myself, i will attest to the fact that it is far easier to make it work when it is casual than it is when things get serious. poor, Tai. I feel your pain.
-
If Dora really wants to twist the knife, all she has to say is, "Pintsize has the photos..."
GAWD, I almost spit my coffee out on the monitor when I parsed that through my WC character filter in my mind and roleplayed that scene out...SNORK!
I think the last panel would be changed to Faye's arm and leg exiting stage left... Faye's got a hammer, crowbar, and blow torch in a small bag in the trailing hand... How fast can Marten Run, and does he have enough parts to rebuild Pintsize from that?
-
Uh oh, Marten should watch out! Dora thinks Tai is hot, too. Personally, I think he should share. Sharing means caring.
-
Haha I love her puppy dog eyes.
-
Robots are made to destroy humans.
what
Why would you say something like that?
Now SkyNet knows we're onto it.
Anyway, I am just surprised Marten said no. He has shown a weakness to the puppy-dog eyes before.
-
Not that I've any personal experience in this practice, mind you, but I hear girlfriends don't exactly take well to being 'loaned out.' In fact, they have their own, special term for it: "Time to dump that asshole."
We guys, of course, love being loaned out. In fact, some of us do it ourselves. Girlfriends have their own, special term for this, too: "Time to dump that cheating asshole."
-
Is it just me or does Marten actually look..... dangerous.... in the last panel?? :-o His eyes are evil looking.
Those are his sarcastic eyes.
His wit is sharper than knives, so yes. Dangerous is right.
*ba-dum-bum-pshh*
-
Its like he's learned to make crazy eyes from Dora. Broadsword next?
-
Uh oh, Marten should watch out! Dora thinks Tai is hot, too. Personally, I think he should share. Sharing means caring.
I'm not sure Marten would be okay with that, and if Tai (or any other female on the planet) had said something similar to Dora re Marten, Dora's response would resemble the last fifteen minutes of Kill Bill Volume 1. Lot's of blood, screaming, and kickassery.
-
HAAA. I <3 todays comic. I showed it to my sister who doesn't even read QC and SHE thought it was hilarious. God, that was so painful to read.
-
Awww, I don't usually like Hannelore, but darn if I didn't feel for her today. Nice to see her do something besides her OCD schtick.
-
Oh balls!!! I totally lost it at panel 6. QC very rarely makes laugh out loud, but that face! AHAHHHAAAAHAHAAHAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Awww! Hanners needs hugs!
Ya know, in a non-physical way.
-
That face of hers is the kind that someone wakes up to in the middle of the night, right before having a knife plunged into their forehead.
....after which they are thoroughly cleansed of all of that filthy blood.
-
Hanners always makes me go, "AAAWWWWW I HUGGLES YOU" but then she would freak out and stab me with a very clean spoon.
-
@notselfcreated: That might be better than if she stabbed you with her boner shark.
-
I believe I may have given several boys that same smile in high school.
-
Dude, she's actually trying. Right on Hanners. If only mother could see you now...
-
Ah, that's regular, dysfunctional Hanners as we know her. xD Still... D'Aww. It takes a special kind of fictional character to feel sorry for.
-
Never posted here before, but. I now want to give Hanners a hug and crack up laughing at her. At the same time. Except that she would probably kill me.
And I love the guy's freaked out face.
-
... and stab me with a very clean spoon.
Hope it's not the Indonesian Fighting Spoon.

UTAlan will probably put it to good use.
-
aww, poor Hannerz.
-
I think I love that guy's reaction more than I love Hanners' crazy smile, lol! I'm sure I've said this before but QC gets better and better with each new comic.
Dear Jeph,
I love the shit out of your comic.
Love,
Joy
-
Hmm... I see the makings of an evolving story arc based on some recent events. I'll have to start paying more attention to detail to see if I'm right or not. Most likely I'm not. Still, I do love my occasional delusions of grandeur.
Also, Hanner's blush in the last panel SO made up for the crazy smile. Just saying...
-
The horrible thing is, this is the first time I've ever thought Hannelore attractive.
I love that drawing: it's no one thing, but only all of it, combined, that makes it unsettling. The pièce de résistance is the little arch of flesh under her left (our right) eye. It brings it all together, somehow.
Unsettling...and yet, so very compelling.
-
Today's comic was really good, but i think it's funnier if you ignore the text.
-
Pooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooor Hanners !
(Man, any girl smiling always at me makes me super, super shy. Is it NORMAL to smile back ???)
-
D'awwwww.
It's too bad Hugging Hannelore Heralds Heavy Hyperventilating (http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=907) because she looks like she needs one lol.
I can totally relate to Hanners in this strip, too.
-
On the plus side for Hanners this is a big improvment, actually smiling to a boy, I mean. Sure, she need to try make it more "friendly smile" and less "knife wieldind maniac smile", but still is a huge step forward for her.
-
You are totally right of course given what her character is involved in, but it's still a little WELP to me to see her go from someone talking to a strange boy in a bathroom to someone who can't smile back at a boy.
-
She was on some VERY strong new meds when she met Marten. I forget which comic she said this in.
In other news, this strip made me audibly "aww" and giggle at the same time. Thank you, Jeph.
-

Plus Marten was extremely drunk, and pissing in a sink at the time, which can be a weird way of breaking the ice.
-
Everyone's going all gaga over the maniacal smile face, but I really really like her face in panel 2.
-
Time for Hanners to get some flirting lessons from Raven
-
Everyone's going all gaga over the maniacal smile face, but I really really like her face in panel 2.
I agree wholeheartedly. I think it's the best Hannersface Jeph's done (that I've seen, anyhow).
-
Everyone has a creepy smile when they put too much thought into it.

I'd make it a tie with her "kitten in a truck's headlights" face at the karaoke bar (1075).
-
Hanner's smile immediately made me think of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. I searched and searched and couldn't find the specific panel. I'll have to scan it when I get home. I have this comic book where the main character is a sociopath and there is one panel where I swear he is wearing that exact same smile.
-
Oh mannnn. She IS trying. That's adorable. I love hanners.
(Never going to drink whilst reading QC again, too much choking)
-
I'd still go over and talk to her on the grounds that attempt was adorably cute and hilarious.
-
Everyone's going all gaga over the maniacal smile face, but I really really like her face in panel 2.
Me too, was thinking about taking it as new avatar.
But OTOH I like my avatar.
That, and you where faster !
-
We now have a competition between Hannelore and Kimiko Ross of Dresden codak as to which one is the most socially inept female in web comix.
Hanners is going to have to work hard to top the "Victor Hugo" remark.
-
Everyone's talking about panel 2, but I liked panel 5 the best. She almost willing her face to contort into a smile and you can see the smallest hint of it :D
-
oh. silly hanners, you didn't scare him, it's just a funny faces game! .... :-)
-
Eight panels, seven feature Hannelore, yet I enjoyed this comic.
If stranger things have happened, I don't wanna know about them.
Good job.
-
GO HANNERS
-
This webcomic made my day.
Thank you so much.
I know everyone always says "That should be a T shirt"...but I gotta say that maniacally grinning Hannelore would make a really good T shirt.
-
I admire her balls. reaching out to someone takes courage, OCD or otherwise...
-
This webcomic made my day.
Thank you so much.

As nice as it is in context, I wouldn't want to wear that.
We should totally have a Hanners vs. Kimiko showdown as to who has the worst problems. OCD versus robotic limbs, maniacal smile against random exclamations about philosophers, boiling her face after a boy kisses her versus getting cut in half by lasers...
-
Kimiko and Hanners? I don't know. I just don't-
You know, and honestly, I recall Kimiko commenting on the fact that no guy has ever hit on her.
-

yet
What? Why wouldn't you enjoy a comic with Hannelore? And even if you don't usually, why would you liking one be particularly strange?
-
Awwwwwwwwwwwww
Hanners dawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
-
In example, Westrim, the post after yours. That is why, so help us god, we must never enjoy a comic with Hanners in it too much. Ever. Again.
-
Google image search + 15 minutes of Photoshoppery = the first thing that came to my mind after reading today's comic:
And don't worry, it's made from the sample image from this press release (http://www.mass.gov/rmv/rmvnews/2004/newids.htm), so the number's fake. (That is, unless you want to impersonate Mr. First Middle Lastname.) And the dates and address are completely made-up on the spot, not researched from the entire comic archive; I don't have THAT much free time. :P
-
Can you even GET a driver's license in space?
-
Can you even GET a driver's license in space?
Yes - but they play Thus Spake Zarathustra while they give it to you...
:-D
Hanners is awesome!
-
Somehow, the comic is almost funnier if you just read the panels down the left hand side.
-
Hannelore behind the wheel of a car would be horrifying.
-
And isn't she on 144 Dwight Street?
-
This is my favorite strip ever. Seriously.
This is adorable.
-
Had a passing thought...and here it is.
I rather liked the driver's license though. :-D

I can't see it too well, but does it say "Height: 6-01"? I don't think she's that tall. My guess would be around 5'10'', assuming Marten's about 6'0'' (recently she's been only a bit shorter than him, and she's taller than the others).
-
@HappyGrar: Those are Canadian feet, so it works out. ;)

I got lazy and didn't feel like changing all the tiny numbers. :P (Hey, at least I remembered to change the tiny, barely legible M to a tiny, barely legible F.)
-

Hehe
Gotta give Hanners kudos for trying.

A license picture guaranteed to make the first cop who pulls her over recoil in horror.
"Miss Elliot-Chatham, that license picture needs a do-over!"
And Jeff7;
that picture actually makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. EVERY time I look at it.
Good job.
-
Sabotage fail.
-
Secure Dora is fun to watch.
-
Is our intrepid Tai suffering from a dry spell? Maybe now would be a good time for Amanda (Faye's lesbian sister) to make another visit.
Amantai, anyone?
It is a little disconcerting how quickly Tai was willing to throw Marten under the bus (as it were) for nothing more than a hot piece of tail.
-
Well, I don't think Tai's serious. She is freaking squirrelly, though. That 'aw' seems straight out of Demonica and DemonTed's playbook.
On a more important front: within my brain Marten's 'correct title' is trying to attach itself to that 'power tool' maddness linked to:
the proper equipment (http://www.extremerestraints.com/fucking-machines_48/the-fucksall-fucking-adapter_438.html)
with very strange results.
-
Hannelore behind the wheel of a car would be horrifying.
How would it be horrifying? Unless you were really trying to get somewhere, it wouldn't be so bad, or unless she forgot to clean something in her apartment or something.
-
You're right. Hanners behind the wheel of a car in a driveway, on blocks, would be perfectly fine.
-

...Okay, that was the first time I ever burst out in laughter in mid-sneeze. Thank you.
-
And how do you get Marten's title, well it's simple men - Take your weight on your elbows; and
pack a lunch - stay for the day.
-
How do I avoid having the word 'Considerate' added before 'Fuck Machine'?
-
clearly SOMEONE else needs to visit the sex shop.
PS: if there's a QC character that deserves to be hit by a bus, it's definitely Tai.
-
How do I avoid having the word 'Considerate' added before 'Fuck Machine'?
Be concerned only with your needs - "I'm done - why are you still here?"
-
PS: if there's a QC character that deserves to be hit by a bus, it's definitely Tai.
Why the Tai hate?
-
Hannelore behind the wheel of a car would be horrifying.
More horrifying: I just noticed the sample was for a license with a motorcycle endorsement.
Can you imagine that? "Hey this is pretty fu- OHGODIJUSTDROVETHROUGHASWARMOFINSECTS *crash* "
-
I wonder if she'll hit on Penny next?
Or will Hanners come through the door and save them all? :D
-
My bet: Marten's mom.
-
Oooh. The adorable little butch girl becomes the toy of Marten's Dominatrix Mom, and....
I'm sorry, but that sounds way too much like a bad porn story. Hanners, on the other hand...well I can see that happening.
-
My bet: Marten's mom.
I find this idea disturbingly not-disturbing-at-all. I'm not quite sur of what I mean by that. I'm so confused right now.
-
Am I the only one disappointed in Marten for feeling he needed to say he was being sarcastic?
-
He's just making sure no one, especially Dora, thinks even for a second that he actually agreed to "give" his girlfriend to his boss. A lot of miscommunication happens due to things not said that people think don't need to be said, but really should be.
-
I misread Marten's line in the last panel of the latest comic as:
"The Considerable Fuck Machine."
Changes the joke, but still pretty funny.
-
PS: if there's a QC character that deserves to be hit by a bus, it's definitely Tai.
Why the Tai hate?
Joking or not, she's being kinda ass at the moment.
-
I kinda like Tai. She gives a much different type of comedy than the regular cast in that it's not nearly as sarcastic and sassy and more out there and crazy.
-
Am I the only one disappointed in Marten for feeling he needed to say he was being sarcastic?
WTF of course he should say that he got intentionally misinterpretet of course you immediately protest !
Joking or not, she's being kinda ass at the moment.
Who ? Tai ? WTF ?
-
Hmmm, you know, I think Hanners meeting Marten's mom would be really bad. EPIC bad. I mean, the things the woman has done, and her tendency to TALK about them...
And then there's the photos...
-
...Okay, that was the first time I ever burst out in laughter in mid-sneeze. Thank you.
That sounds painful.
-
Hmmm, you know, I think Hanners meeting Marten's mom would be really bad. EPIC bad.
Or it might open a whole new world for Little Hannelore. And Veronica produced the ever non-threatening Marten. How scary can she be?
However, it won't lead to any blasted Hantai. (Fire at will! Sink the Hantai! Give the miserable shippers a bath!)
The more I look at the last strip, the more Tai seems like one of those tiny, yapping dogs that simply will not shut up until you whack it with a club newspaper.
-

The word is "teenagers", get it right next time.

"Dora! Hey Dora!
Marten's been sleeping with other people!"
"You're trying to seduce me, aren't you?"
"Nyoron~n"

I believe I may have given several boys that same smile in high school.
Now I finally understand what the smile meant. And here I thought it was gas.

Hanners has probably encountered those same photos online, by accident or because of Pintsize making a nebulous comment knowing Hanners would research it or her curiousity would kill her.
Hanners is likely to be the first person to invent mental floss or demand daddy invent it! (pills don't count)
-

She's ok, but pretty one-dimensional. She was more fun as Tai-Jimbo-Fan than she is as Tai-Every-Single-Word-Deed-Thought-is-about-sexssexssexssexssexssexssexssexssexssexssexssexssexssexssexssexssexssexssexssexs
-
Indeed. Tia's now much like a tinier, younger, hornier lesbian Ruth Westheimer. She was interesting for a while, too. but...
-
It would be nice if her character was fleshed out deeper than "sex-crazed window to a love dodecahedron".
-
Tai does really need more fleshing out than she has had so far, but I think she's kinda more of a Comic Sidekick character at the moment. She reminds me of Chakotay in Voyager, an ongoing somewhat central character, but not written as well as could be.
-
...Okay, that was the first time I ever burst out in laughter in mid-sneeze. Thank you.
That sounds painful.
Not really. Just wet.
I'll take "Shit I Really Didn't Want To Know" for two hundred, Alex. And please let it not be an Audio Daily Double...I just ate.
Hmmm, you know, I think Hanners meeting Marten's mom would be really bad. EPIC bad. I mean, the things the woman has done, and her tendency to TALK about them...

Hanners has probably encountered those same photos online, by accident or because of Pintsize making a nebulous comment knowing Hanners would research it or her curiousity would kill her.
Hanners is likely to be the first person to invent mental floss or demand daddy invent it! (pills don't count)

Not really. Just wet.
"This Brain Bleach Moment was brought to you by: LTK, courtesy of Hannelore Ellicott-Chatham."
Classic.
