Uh oh. It's always a little scary when Jeph scripts ahead.
-
I feel sorry for Hanners. Not only did she drive away a boy with her horribly disfigured smile, but she's going to give herself nightmares with it too. Bad day...
-
 @ Hanners - Now she knows why that poor guy flinched.
Nothing like a little mirror driven self improvement to help a girl along.
-
Or drive her off the deep end.
Hmm, it is Hanners...deeper end?
-
Ooh, a new twittering character: http://twitter.com/tai_fighter (http://twitter.com/tai_fighter)
I assume that's canonical, since other characters are talking to her.
-
dawwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Hanners, awwwwwwwwwwwwwww
-
I had no idea Hanners had so many piercings.
-
Whow, recently Hanners gets painted REALLY cute.
I love the sideway look in panel 1.
-
Woooo! I hope this actually a full story arc about Hanners learning to smile - that would be made of cute. :D

rather made of cute win, amirite? ;P ... ... ...I win the internetz?
-
I award you 1 internetz for your comment but penalize you 3 lols for the improper use of ellipses.
-
Ah, a woman after my own heart -- that is to say, a woman with an equally freakish smile. It's so bad I've taken to calling myself the Grimace.
-
I don't think Hanners has a disfugured smile, I think she doesn't know how to smile and just puts full force on all her facial muscles, which is how childrens books depict it.
-
Huh, I don't remember Hanners having so many piercings either. Weird.

She needs to visit Faye for another trim, her hair is getting a little beyond unruly...
-
I had no idea Hanners had so many piercings.
Me either.

The mind boggles.

The art has changed a bit since then.
Hannelore will have nightmares about her own smile tonight.
Just like most of us did recently...except those who are having fantasies about it.
Takes all kinds.
S
-
Takes all kinds.
Is that what it takes? Always wondered what it took.
-
I like the artwork in this one except for one issue:
In panels 2 and 3, Hannelore has hair tucked behind her ear but that doesn't show up in her reflection.
Perhaps I'm channeling her OCD here.

If you want to get really picky about it, given the angle of the viewer, relative to the mirror and Hannelore, we'd likely be seeing her folded towels, and not her face.
But it's aight, I ain't judgin'. :P

Oh. Huh.
Am I a bad person for liking that Hanners more than the one we have now? They seem like completely different characters.
-
Hey, she IS cute.

Honestly, the only difference is that old Hannelore was a lot more confident and spoke her mind. That and she used to straighten her hair, I guess.
-
Dora in a devilish mood here. And Marten hitting on other girls? - Wonders would never cease.
-
Can't help liking 'Dorable Dora.
Do freckles make for a good threesome candidate?
-
Honestly, the only difference is that old Hannelore was a lot more confident and spoke her mind. That and she used to straighten her hair, I guess.
And apparently had enough experience watching men and relationships to make snippy little comments about them, and to quickly both cut past the bs and sum up Marten's situation.
-
Wasn't old Hannelore also dosed up on meds?
-
Correct.
That line from Freckles about being prepositioned for a threesome makes me worry about the state of the Northampton coffee shops. O_o
-
Yes, she was.
Back to today's strip, Marten's cunning plan has now backfired, or at least not turned out how he figured.
-
what was that plan again?
-
Honestly, the only difference is that old Hannelore was a lot more confident and spoke her mind. That and she used to straighten her hair, I guess.
New Hanners does speak her mind occasionally... most recently: http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1388
Other times: when Marten called Faye an alcoholic, and I think Faye got drunk after having sex with Sven, and Hanners went critical.
-
Not to mention her She-Hulk moment (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=981).
-
Freckles are pretty. Especially on a redhead. Especially on the shoulders....
-
Is it just me, or have we seen the red-haired girl before?
-
Few things make me happier than being able to quit hating Dora. I've always liked her, but there for a while she was seeming irrational and crazy. Now she's back to being fun and awesome. I hope this her stays around. A little insecure is okay, most girls are to a certain level. But, crazy controlling bitch isn't as much fun to read...errr watch...errr something.
-
Is it just me, or have we seen the red-haired girl before?
I'm thinking she's Sweet-Tits...
-
If that girl doesn't want to get hit on, maybe she should stop looking so bisexual.
-
I just know I'm going to hate myself in the morning for asking this, but what, exactly is bisexual-looking about the freckled red-head?
-
And now we must add "being mischievous" to the list of things that Hanners looks cute doing.
-
It was worth it for the looks on Faye and Dora's faces in the third and fourth panel
Our Hanners has definitely developed a wicked sense of humour - Or is it the influence of the aforementioned?
-
Hehe, Alright I'll admit it, Hanners made me laugh in that one. Hehe, the looks on Dora and Faye's faces... hehe.
Haha!
Great stuff.
-
Messing with people is a social skill. It's not completely a new one to her, though. Remember the biostasis remark?
-
Looking back at http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=669 makes me note that Hanners has changed a lot. When did she give up smoking, short hair, and wearing tidy clothes?
In all seriousness, it reminds me of looking back at old Peanuts cartoons, and seeing how those characters evolved in drawing style (albeit over a number of decades).
-
Ha ha ha ha that was pretty good.
-
OK, how's this for an exceedingly annoying nitpick: I don't think the writing on the "Specials" building in panel 3 (EDIT: panel 2 is different as well, 1 and 4 might match, though) matches what's written in the other panels (though the building itself does). Not that it matters, it's just the kind of stupid thing my brain catches after being an editor for a while.
-
That's just funny.
-
Hannelore looks adorable when she laughs.
-
okay, so much as I love QC, It's rare that I actually laugh out loud.
Today was different. Nice one Jeph :-D
-
I lold.
-
Hanners just got 25% more awesome.
-
d'awwwww
-
Hanners has scored pwnage points ^_^
-

The latter has consistently been one of her skills.
-
So would the receptors for the satellite uplink be called "Hantennae"?
-
I think its great Hanners can mess with people. I find it even better than she managed to get those done and her reasons as to why she didnt freak out,was something i plainly didnt see coming.
Still looking for Raven though.
Also what do you guys think would make the best Mascot fot CoD?

The specialsaurus, maybe?
-
Looks like Hanner's current prescription has a full complement of happy pills.
-
I'm voiting for "Mom's going to be so pissed."
-
So would the receptors for the satellite uplink be called "Hantennae"?
Only if they're having sex with Hannelore.
-
Heh, "ass-butt".
-
Heh, "ass-butt".
I read that as "ass-bot" the first time.
-

In her closet no less? :-D
-
If Dora had only reversed that, Faye could have protested, "I am not! Fully clothed here!"
Southern-talk, Redneck Supplement: Butt-ass nekkid- Nude, and quite certainly, undeniably up to something. Usually caught in the act of said something. As in: "When I went looking for Janey-Sue, I found her in the back of his Trailblazer with Jimmy Flatts, both of 'em butt-ass nekkid."
-
Hmmmm
Very logically thought out there Hanners. Hey! - Maybe Hanners is part Vulcan!
:D ;)
Still, nice to know that she had the guts to get them done even with her germophobic tendencies.
-
boobies... Faye's in particular. That is all.
-
This wasn't a conventional setup/punchline strip. This was funny all the way through.
-
Hope Dora is smart enough to refuse Hanner's...generous offer. Dora's insecure enough as it is.
-
Well.. Faces are always unsymmetric .. its just a question about how unsymmetric, not if.
-
Studies have shown that we are more attracted to people with asymmetrical faces then to those with symmetrical ones. Too much perfection puts us off.
-
I can't be the only one who thought that Faye's left boob was wearing the 'we love tips' sign.
-
@Blackcat Moebius: No, it couldn't be. If it was on her left boob, it would've said, "We love nips."
-
Or "We love tits."
-
Or "We love tits."
But that can be said for only one of the Coffee of Doom staff, right?
-
A T-shirt with the word "BEHOLD" printed on the chest would be more accurate.
Sore Thumbs reference.
So is there only one person in the Coffee of Doom staff that swings both ways? Never thought about it. I guess you're right.
-
Hanner's wrong. I checked using GIMP and both her eyes have the same amount of green.
Maybe it's the lighting?
-
lol, I want friends like hanners and faye.
-
Or "We love tits."
But that can be said for only one of the Coffee of Doom staff, right?
True, but I was thinking less of them having a sign that says "We love tits." and more of a sign that could be misread as "We love tits." that sits on the register at boob level when everyone that stants behid the register is female.
-
They'd sure as hell get more tips if they drew attention to their tits.
-

With an all-female, all-attractive employee base, isn't that kind of how Coffee of Doom rolls?
-
Ahh, the thoughts that come to mind.
:-D

Puts a whole new twist on "want creme/milk with that?" :-D

How crude! <Inner Beavis snickering all the while>
Keebles, you're a bad influence on my wholesomeness.
-
That would have implied that you ARE (as opposed having once been) wholesome.
-

In #487, Raven recalled making out with a girl. There was also some ambiguity on her Twitter feed.

Yes, can you please explain what you mean?
-
Not to mention her She-Hulk moment (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=981).
Did anybody else notice that Hanners' last line in that comic is "These are my pavorite pants?"
Pavorite?
Hmmm....

I actually have an irrational fear of biological symmetry. This is usually the worst during the rainy season, when many earthworms are afoot. Encounters with sea urchins are not pleasant, though infrequent. I'm somewhat uncomfortable around people with hair parted down the middle.
-
One of my favorite sig quotes is: "My parents visited a planet without bilateral symmetry and all I got was this stupid F-Shirt."
-
Hannelore is starting to look like Le Petit Prince. But who is the snake?
-
That would have implied that you ARE (as opposed having once been) wholesome.
What? Am I not a paragon of purity?
<pauses, flips through comments past>
Perhaps I was speaking of what wholesomeness I yet retain.

For those of you slightly more innocent than I, slight twisting of mammary glands can, if they are active, cause them to spew forth milky, ah, goodness. Of course, this may only be my naive, unworldy interpretation of these posts. But there it is.
Oh, and: "Tits. Twist. Heheh heheh heheh."
-
Oh, and: "Tits. Twist. Heheh heheh heheh."
It's all fun and games until someone gets a purple nurple.
-
Then someone puts it on a pay per view site and makes a mint.
-
Veronica Vance! So you've been breaking the third wall all this time as 'Border Reiver.' That explains...well, it doesn't explain a darn thing, actually.
How's the fruit-squishing biz?
-
Not as good as it could be - my motivationally challenged son doesn't want to be part of the business and he's not as good at recruiting for me either - though I have my eye on this blonde from his building....
-
Ah, me. Children can be such a disappointment...glad I never had any…that I know of.
-
That's what she said.
-

allow me then to illuminate you...
