Title: I may have had a revelation recently.

It came to me when I was contemplating why I haven't had sex in over a year. Over the years, things have happened in my life that have slowly ruled out one or another reason why I wasn't getting any, and as the possible external reasons dwindled to nothing, I made a horrific leap of logic.

I think I might be celibate.

Oh god how did this happen?!?!?!? I'm actually turning into a male Hannelore!!!! Help me this must be stopped!!!

But seriously, no. Everyone goes through periods where they do not have sex with people. For some people it's a few days or weeks. For some people it's longer. Unless you're actively making decisions not to engage in sexual activity, you're just a normal person who hasn't had sex recently.

Hannelore doesn't have sex because she is repulsed by the thought of it.  You just haven't had sex because you've neglected to try.  Perhaps you've been busy with other things that are more important to you at this juncture in your life.  It's two completely different scenarios.

Also, what's the big deal about being celibate? Or not having sex? Also, being celibate is a decision, not something you happen to be. As in you actually choose not to have sex. This doesn't sound like you made a decision to not have sex, this sounds like you just noticed you aren't getting any.
