Let's see how well this one does within the high standards of this musical community. ;)
For those who don't know Streetlight Manifesto, they are about the best Ska-Punk/3rd Wave Ska Band that's around at the moment. Their lead singer, guitarist and write is Tomas Kalnoky, probably known from Catch22's Keasbey Nights. This (http://www.streetlightmanifesto.com) is their homepage and even though they've gotten more popular in the last few years, I think they are still relatively unknown, which I think is undeserved. So I thought I'd open a thread to acknowledge their pure awesomeness.
And here is for my personal note: For the guys who do know Streetlight Manifesto - do you have any bands that you could recommend? I think I dug through most of the known Ska-Punk Bands (Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Less than Jake, Big D and the Kids Table, Catch22 after Kalnoky - they suck, Operation Ivy, Mad Caddies and the likes) but couldn't find anything as good as Streetlight, maybe you have something for me that I could enjoy. :)

Stop listening to 3rd wave ska.
That's about the best advice I can give you.
As far as bands go: The Specials, The Toasters and The Skatalites, and since SM's music has a touch of Eastern music in it, check out Gogol Bordello.

Why should I stop listening to something I enjoy?
Specials, Toasters and Skalites I know and they are quite good, more original ska.
And I did do the last.fm similar stuff search, just didn't turn up much I don't know already.

I'm actually sitting about two feet away from a poster drawn and signed by Kalnoky. Not a big fan of ska in general but I make an exception for Streetlight.

I think my genre favorites are Leftover Crack/Choking Victim, Voodoo Glow Skulls, and Bomb the Music Industry!

Aquabats and LöC/CV are really good, yes.
Bomb the music industry I didn't know, thanks. Seems like their CDs are hard to get, I might have to spend actual money, but ok.

Uh, I did not know that. Thank you.

they're a bit more experimental and proggy, but i'd heartily suggest RX Bandits and Howards Alias. (the former should be easy to find, and i've uploaded a coupla howards alias albums on the mediaf!re thread that a quick search could probably locate).

What I mean to say is you can download their songs directly from their page for free, or you can buy their cds, or download and donate. Whatever's your prerogative.
