TLDR version:
Because of a legal battle with EMI, he is releasing a blank CD-R with his album art on it instead of the album. So you can record his album from wherever you may find it on the internet.

I'm gonna buy that and burn the White Album on it

I'm on the third track. I guess it's a track, it's one of those new-fangled continuous albums so I'm not sure.
It's really good so far. It's musical and yet kind of haunting.

man that is so not the right conjunction to use there.
But I do like what I've heard of this so far.
-
That's the most bad-ass thing I've heard all day, actually.
Maybe that's the way all recorded music should be. Nowadays, we only buy CDs for the novelty, anyway.
-
Speak for yourself.
-
I totally agree, but it's still nice to know that you're supporting the band/artist in some way.

Right, but my alternative to downloading music illegally is iTunes. I figure financially-limited people like myself would ultimately choose a ten-dollar download that takes a minute to produce, rather than a twenty-dollar CD that takes a car ride or a couple business days to receive.
-
I still buy CDs because I want to own my music, and I don't have a credit card. Plus, Cars still use CDs, last I checked.
So, I'm almost done downloading the album, I'll buy the CD when it comes out.

SWEET LORD OF ALL THIS ALBUM IS AMAZING.
-
I just love the fact that David Lynch sings on two songs.
You know you've really gotten somewhere good when Mr. Lynch wants to sing on your album.
-
he's really not.
crappy producer too...
(this particular enterprise of his does sound pretty cool however)
-
This is Dangermouse produced Sparklehorse, right? I doubt there are two albums with the exact same story.
It's pretty okay, yeah.
