Title: Wristcutters
Post by: scarred on 31 May 2009, 20:41

I saw the trailer for this years ago on Apple, and I was laying around my friend's house, browsing the free on-demand movies. The title popped up, and at my insistence, we watched it. It's a joyous little thing. Anybody else seen it/liked it? If you haven't, it's highly recommended. Plus: Tom Waits!

I haven't even heard of it, but I will watch it solely for Tom Waits.

I saw it in a theater I guess two years ago? Or something. Yeah, it was pretty delightful and cute in a sort of cold and silly way. I enjoyed it quite a bit. End was a bit of a let-down, but it wasn't really a big deal.  I dunno if I'd buy it though; it was fun to see once but it wasn't like really impactful or anything.

I really really really really like this movie. A friend of mine rented it one night when we were hanging out because he figured I would be the only one of his friends that would like it. I did. Now I have my own copy and it just a joy.

Yep, great film...Tom Waits is awesome, Patrick Fugit is quite good in his role as well...the Russian guy is my favorite. And Shannyn Sossamon is freaking gorgeous.

Patrick Fugit is adorable and I want him to be my boyfriend.

This is why my dreams never come true.

Tom Waits, and a guy shamelessly based on the lead singer of Gogol Bordello. Has anyone read the short story it's based on by Etgar Keret?

i watched this movie once and really liked it but literally can't remember a single thing about it besides the shameless Eugene Hutz character.

i kept watching him just like "man...is that...no....no, definitely not. wait....maybe it is.....uhhhh......"

How is it shameless that they based a character off a real guy? It's not like they denied their inspiration; they played his music in the movie.

I was shocked it wasn't Hutz, why not just hire the man, he probably comes cheap.

Awesome mkovie and concept but have to admit i didnt like the end either. Eugene was awesome and even was a ripoff of the Gogol Bordello singer(and he was) still was amusing to watch. The soundtrack is another favorite of mine using all of Gogol Bordello's songs was a nice touch.

I don't get it why people are all "ohm-fug he is totally a copy of Eugene Hutz."  Who cares?

To my recollection they mostly just used one a bunch of times.

I was super excited to see it when I read about it a couple of months, and I guess my expectations were a bit too high because it didn't blow me away. But it was still a lot of fun.

Through The Roof 'N' Underground
Occurrence on the border
Huliganjetta
Wanderlust King

now they did play Through the roof 'n' underground repeatedly but these were the other ones in the movie

I was just kidding, I knew it was more than one song.  It was just a bit repetitive for my taste.
