Title: mistake in the comics
Post by: hero690 on 17 Jun 2009, 23:13
This thread is for people who want to help point out the mistakes to the author of the comic to help him fix it like in todays comic if you read it he forgot to put in a speech bubble in the second panel where marten is talking to angus about having him ask his roommate to come along next time there is a whole part of them talking missing and you can barely make it out at the bottom of the panel if you look really hard.

Nice to see someone beat me to it ;p

Hope this gets fixed, I spent a few minutes trying to work out where the secret hidden comic panel with the extra bit of text that made the whole thing make sense was hidden!

I think what they are saying is that a whole thread dedicated to instances when Jeph makes mistakes is probably not going to make him very happy. He knows about he speech bubble, and people seem very eager to tell him whenever he does stuff like that as it is, he probably doesn't need another thing telling him he is human and makes little mistakes. He probably doesn't care that much.

That and it will probably end up with "OMG YOU PUT THE PAPER TOWEL THE WRONG WAY AROUND" kind of mistakes, which are also things that he probably doesn't care about.

Like Eris says, it's not like he doesn't care enough to fix an error like this, but with 23,000 followers on Twitter, he probably has to weed through HUNDREDS of messages telling him about it, so then coming here and finding a whole thread dedicated to reminding him yet again is not likely to brighten his mood.

If nobody else has yet, mention any error in the weekly thread, and that is more than enough to get back to Jeph. Don't Tweet at him, don't PM his box here, don't e-mail him, don't post about it in his LiveJournal. If something doesn't get "fixed" eventually, it either wasn't really an error, or it was an "error", but not something worth the trouble of re-opening the file and diddling with. There is almost zero chance that he hasn't heard about it multiple times already.

I'm gonna have to agree with Jimor on this one, i saw the comic and saw the speech bubble, but figured one of the thousands of others readers would probably get the message to him.  Sure enough, if you look at his twitter he got about 150 emails about it.  Just trust that someone else will get the message to him and relax unless it's been more than a day or so and he hasn't mentioned it anywhere.

i was actually making this thread to help point out spelling mistakes,or missed speech bubbles or anything major if someone comes on here and says the paper towels the wrong  way then i will personally yell at them and throw them out of this thread.

Jeph already gets hundreds of messages when he makes mistakes in e-mails and on twitter. There is no need for a forum thread aswell.

Now the mistake is that we'll never know that there's actually a napkin dispenser hidden behind that text bubble in panel 2.

Hell I never knew because I don't try to stay up til midnight or later to read it.

Can we repurpose this thread to get people to stop going to the site at midnight and mashing F5 until the comic comes up?  Because maybe I'm nitpicking and don't understand the rules of bandwidth but that seems like a pretty big dick move.  Patience, people.

This kind of thread isn't really necessary.
