This thread is now about riding bikes.

I like riding bikes. Tomorrow, when it's light, I will post a picture of the bike my brother made for me. It's pretty rad. It needs a new paint job though.

I'm going to build a bike. My boyfriend's mum is giving me her old fallen apart bike and it is so awesome and has fantastic potential, I don't know anything about bikes but I want one and I am excited. I know how to work on cars so surely building a bike should not be so hard right?

Building a bike definitely isn't hard, but it can get expensive pretty fast, especially if you don't have the tools. Seek out someone who is bicycle-oriented, or if you can't then the money you spend at a reputable bike shop is worth the peace of mind that your bike is in working condition. This place (http://www.parktool.com/repair/) is a good start.

also: yeah that video is weird, and also a waste of a Butterfinger

Butterfinger used to be delicious until they added peanut butter. Maybe this thread should be about how peanut butter is only okay sometimes and not all of the time.

Lunchy I can teach you how to repair bikes hella greaser-style but the only condition is that while we are fixing bikes we have to wear grubby overalls and cuss and spit can you handle that

Do you want to turn your old bike into a low rider (think carefully)

You can get Butterfingers with caffeine in them!

Why would anyone want Butterfingers with caffeine in it?

Oh America and your strange, strange snacks.

Hey if you need spare parts we've got like three spare decomposing bikes over here.

Also riding a bike in Sydney is a Challenge and also an Experience.

Please use all four bikes and maybe also the bike on Brett's front yard to make a superbike.

i love my mountain bike,  but want a fixed gear bike. I know they are illegal in a lot of places but i really dont care. We have whats called a midnight mass every Thursday where im from. Its all types of bike enthusiasts get together at midnight and ride en masse through downtown. Its a lot of fun but being on a mountain bike amongst the fixed wheeelers makes me kinda inadequate. I got a chance to ride a fixed wheel and loved it, so i think im gonna convert. Anyone else here ride one?

Fixed gear bikes are stupid, unsafe, and really not that cool. Don't get one.

If you can't afford a car, a bike with pegs can take a girl to the movies.

Ooh, that sounds exciting, Nick.  Oh! And I wouldn't be riding it anywhere scary. Just to the shops and round the park. Not in the city, eek.

My friend (Ally's friend) Albert has found a place that has sort of bike building workshops, a dude has a shed full of bikes and bike bits and people get together on Monday nights to sort of do a communal bike thing - some people provide parts, others stuff like grease and tyres... seems like a good way to start things!

Also I would kill for a lowrider brett and I can source overalls and slick back my hair no worries.

I think the bike is kind of like the ladies one in this photo:

I know it is heck of vintage and a peugeot and it is red and I have only seen it once in the dark but I remember it had sort of the two bar thing going on?

All that, and you also get to discover why they invented gears and brakes!

There is a bike race from the Gold Coast to Brisbane that as a requirement of entry, dictates that you need to ride a fixed gear, low rider bike.

It is kind of insane and suicidal and a really long way to ride on a stupidly impractical bike but I still want to do it.

I am completely aware of how unsafe and dangerous they can be and too be honest kinda adds to its charm. My mountain bike has many gears, shocks and brakes. I want something a lil more dangerous and crazy. Besides ive seen some of the monstrosities people build and a fixed gear cant be much worse.

for instance

Have you guys TRIED new Butterfingers? It is horrible! The original Butterfingers was delicious and original and full of chocolate-buttery goodness. The new Butterfingers is like a crappy Reese Cup! STOP LIVIN' IN THE PAST.

Can successfully interweave two threads? Are we breaking some sort of rule?

That bike is an awesome bike. I would salute the person riding that. H

They probably wouldn't see me though.

I have never had the opportunity to taste a butterfinger firsthand.   Am I missing out?   Is the a UK equivalent snack?   Or do they just make you retarded like in the previous videos?
