Title: Ludovico Einaudi and the modern pianos
Post by: Aimless on 22 Aug 2009, 14:18
I finally gave Ludovico Einaudi a try, and found that his music is EXACTLY the kind of piano music I've been looking for. Would you guys happen to know of any other modern composers with a similar sound? :)

I listened to some of his music on youtube, and I think I know what you need.

You sir, need a good wholesome dose of Satie.

Erik, that is.

No need to thank me so profusely.

It's true that Reinbert de Leeuw is the best pianist other than Satie himself to have played these pieces. However I don't know if youtube has good quality versions.

Just to be clear, Satie more or less invented minimalism and ambient music.

Maybe, but I'm totally going to listen to Reich if I want minimalism.  He is, by far, the king as far as anyone I've heard.
