Jeph makes 261 comics per year. Todays comic is #1476. According to my math, that gives us just 2 more years to party like it's #1999 and not sound dorky about it.
-
Well, you got that going for you.
Which is nice.
-
Too lazy to check.. but do guest strips count in the count?
-
I'm pretty sure they do.
-
261?
5x52 = 260, and 365/7 = 52 1/7, where is the extra comic coming from?
And yes guest strips increment the count
-
5 x 52 1/7 = 260 5/7, there.
And I'd rather party like it's #1699.
-
This would have been so much funnier if you had waited to make the joke when the comic came up.
Now you just look like the over eager kid who answers the teacher's question before she's finished so you can look smarter than all the other kids.
-
^ Oooooo! BURN!
-
I'm innocent, they hypnotized me with their shiny numbers.

365 days minus 104 Saturdays and Sundays.

Who wants to start the poll about how long this strip will continue to exist and produce? I say it'll make it to about 3200.
(fixed; 2800 was an unkind assessment)
-
Considering Jeph makes all of his income from the comic, I think he'll keep doing it until it's not profitable.
-
Or until he decides that it is artistically played out and he wants to go in another direction.
Or Deathmole signs a multi-million dollar recording deal.
-
Plus over on the Ask Jeph thread he said QC is something that he needs to do.
-
I try not to put a number on things just because I like assuming they will go forever, like Dr.Who. :-D
