okay, now I will have to get a wii. If they go through with this... It'll be like Lovecraft meets Kingdom Hearts.

the game actually has been all but confirmed. Warren Specter talked about working a project briefly a few months ago and this is the one. I am very curious what this will be exactly.

Oh man, I wonder if it's too far in development now for them to incorporate steampunk Marvel dudes in it. That would be sick as hell.

Spector's studio got acquired in 2007. How far along their game is dependent upon a number of factors, mainly if they used existing tech or built their game from scratch, the scope of the game, and so on. I'd wager it's at least at the mid-point of development.

Gotta say, Deus Ex is solid gold and Invisible War wasn't entirely Spector's fault, but I'm not optimistic about this game. Everything I know about using a publisher's flagship properties w/r/t game development lead me to suspect that Disney is going to have major creative control over the game, and I doubt they'll be giving a lot of leeway as far as what you can really actually do (at the end of the day, canon has to be upheld, as many D&D game developers have learned). The setting's sort of interesting, I guess? But I'm not interested in Kingdom Hearts-style straightforward fantasy epics. Which I suspect this game will invariably turn out to be.

Concept art looks interesting but then, it always does. I'll be interested in seeing how their Wii mechanics turn out. Sounds sort of like a gonzo Lemmings.

Wait... the person who posted it on youtube is named 'gamingparodies' and this is supposed to be real?

Really?

I was really, really curious to see this project come to life on the Wii.  To say that the screenshots of the game are underwhelming is optimistic.  The game looks absolutely horrible and is going to be a wasted product on the Wii.  I hate that it's Disney's decision because they had the decision of making a much more expensive and better game on the PS360 but they chose to make it on the Wii.  It's Mickey Mouse, it's going to print money either way.  I just really wanted to see a visually stunning game considering that's what all the screenshots and concept art were screaming.

I was about to say: Im-freaking-possible. And then I saw that it was here (http://disney.go.com/disneyinteractivestudios/product.html?platform=wii&game=disneyepicmickey). Deeply disappointed.

It's worth noting that those are super early screenshots. Assets that show up in print exclusive reveals almost never end up representative of the final product.

Yeah, is there anyone in this thread who's actually thinking that's pretty much what the game is going to look like when it's released? Speak up so I can make fun of you.

Errrr...Just seeing that the release date is september of next year.  Instead of sticking my foot in my mouth I'm just going to say that I don't think the end product is going to look marvelously better than the screenshots they just put out.  And why exactly would they be putting out screenshots for this so early?

If they are stupid enough to reposition a 80 year old creative property and make it "dark" and the basis of a computer game, there is nothing this development team is not capable of.  I never thought I'd say this, but Mickey should have stayed on the racist steamboat.

Man 10 months is a lot of development time.

Well, it's a pretty big disappointment as compared to the fantastic concept art.

But it looks like a pretty fun classic 3D platformer, reminiscent of Gex, Spyro and the like.

My little sister had a Gamecube game called "Mickey's Magical Mirror" or some such. That trailer... looked exactly like it.
