You can watch day one here (http://ufragtv.com/recorded/video/22515)
What are you looking forward to?
-
I didn't realise there was anything to look forward to if you weren't going.
-
just got home from pax. list of cool shit is way too long. must sleep for day 2.
-
I disagree with you est
-
So, you think that he totally realizes that there is something to look forward to?
-
I think you can look forward to PAX without being there.
-
How so? I mean, I would love to be there to see some of the panels and see what an Anamanaguchi live show looks like, but what is there to look forward to for people who aren't attending?
-
I look forward to the vidjea games. Specifically the stuff on Secret World at the moment.

From a corporate perspective, PAX probably serves a similar purpose to E3 and TGS and stuff; that is, it's a place to do marketing. The difference is that it's marketing that caters to a slightly more specific audience - PA readers - and allows members of the general public to get hands-on time with upcoming games. A lot of publishers in attendance are choosing to reveal details about games and stuff at PAX if I'm not mistaken!

Fix'd that for ya. PAX has become what E3 was until someone cut the Expo's balls off.
-
Yeah but E3 is already being somewhat ramped up again, isn't it?
-
E3 is still a press-specific event, though. They've increased the scale of it from what it was cut down to after the organizers had gotten fed up with people sneaking in and shit, but PAX is still the only game-specific convention in America that's open to the public (barring company-specific stuff like Blizzcon). And like Johnny said, publishers are actually taking this show seriously and showing new details about games at the show. I know No More Heroes 2 is playable for the first time on the show floor (which makes me super jealous), and Valve is showing off one of the new Left 4 Dead 2 campaigns along with some of the new special Infected.
