We will share our nabs and airplane glue.

Unless you're planning to do a scandinavian tour, I won't be able to come. Too bad, since I enjoy your music.
-
Well there you go, maybe this winter if the ice bridge freezes we can drive the Illicitizen mobile over to ScandinaviaLand. :P
In other news, WE JUST BOOK ST LOUIS!!!!!ALLCAPSLOCKED!!!!!!

So you're playing Fubar? I'll be there. Drinking up your beers and turning up my nose.
-
Aiight Glyphic. That's the spirit. We are officially "squeezed in" to the Fubar so I think we aren't getting paid and likely on first. Show up early. I look just like the dude in my avatar pic. Where's a good cheap motel in StL?
EDIT: MEMPHIS 50% closer to being booked. Need a headlining Local to play with us at Zinnie's Full Moon 11/11/09.
-
I don't know too much about the motel situation, really. There's a flamingo motel on the corner of Jefferson and Cass, which is north of Fubar. The neighborhoods in that area get sketch with a quickness if you aren't careful, though. You would probably be better off heading south on Jefferson and hitting the Courtyard. Price is mid-range, but you are far less likely to be a victim of a violent crime.
-
ok, don't wanna get Fubar'd. heh.
Thanks.
Who's up for a swanky after party with the olds from SeniorIllicitizen?
Ow. My back. My Hip. Anyone know anything about Zinnie's and/or the Poplar Lounge in Memphis?
Did I mention we're making this trip in a 20 yr old F250 Diesel truck? At least we won't need the (non-functioning) A/C this trip.
EDIT
Just added Memphis (11/11) and Columbus OH (11/9). ACK I crossed the streams! (http://illicitizen.blogspot.com/2009/09/illicitizen.html)

You are going to adore Fubar.
Ha.
HAAHA
-
You mean sarcastically "adore" or really adore, like say the World Famous Milestone (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2184/2403614778_1be9d57b53.jpg) type adore?
-
Personally, I feel that it lacks character. Plus, the crowd is a little... one-dimensional.
-
Oh thanks. Now I has a sad. But you know I feel like the whole she-bang might be like that.
-
The venue generally caters to hardcore punk, but it seems like they can open up every once in a while. I saw a few local emo bands there this Monday. I do not generally go to emo shows, but one of my college buddies was playing and got me in for free.
-
Well we've played everywhere from redneck pool halls to hc venues. We usually get along most with the metal heads. Not sure why?
-
I think most metal heads just tend to be more enthusiastic about music in general and live performances in particular than most people expect. Like with any other niche group, the internet makes it easy find elitist metal heads who seem to spend most of their time bitching about music as opposed to listening to it, but the ones that actually get out there and go to shows regularly are remarkably hard to keep from having a good time.
-
Agreed. I am pretty much ashamed to refer to us as "indie rock" as nearly every band I would call that we've played w/ have turned out to be selfish turds.
-
Great time in Columbus last night.
St Louis / Fubar tonight!
-
ok, heading up north to Danbury CT and (hopefully) some town called New York.
I need 2 NYC bands to play w/ to cement that gig. Although I dunno at this point the venue has not been all that communicative. Anyone know any bands that want to rock in the new year (12/31) with us? [email protected]
-
Heading to NYC today to play tomorrow (3/26).

I wish every show would go like last night's. Excepting the truck springing another fuel/oil/something leak.

So we are playing Friday the 13th of August at the Delancey in NYC. Some guy named Bobby Steele (who used to be in some band call the Misfits) is playing right before us. Is that good?
