Apparently James Murphy just realised that LCD Soundsystem has a facebook page and has decided to update it, which is great news!
For the full story go to http://www.facebook.com/lcdsoundsystem but basically:
LCD is in the studio right now.
New album possibly in March
New single should be out before the end of the year.
Extensive world tour next year with what is supposedly "the best version of the band yet"
New single (possibly whole album?) mastered by Bob Weston (!)
also, the 45:33 remix album is getting a totally boss release on 4 12"s.
So, yeah.
-
This makes me so happy right now.

James Murphy is worse than a drug dealer for doing this as far as I am concerned
I have a very real problem, James
wait holy shit they are already taking preorders for this. I am saving pennies becauses I already have a pretty full shopping cart on the DFA webstore and will probably need at least 150 bucks to get everything I want.

My day, she is made!

Change of plans: Next year I'm following LCD around on tour

Hey, I have nothing to do with my life for a year. Sounds like a plan.

I thought the Sound of Silver stuff was better.
That said, I liked the first album WAY more than I like Sound of Silver.
-
I can completely understand where you're coming from but personally, i can't really say any is worse than the other. They are both different in their own special ways and for me are both great albums.
-
On that link you just fed us, the next song that it plays: interesting.
-
see also the Richard X remix if Saint Etienne's Only Love Can Break Your Heart

That whole site is pretty cool. Every time I've not had anything I particularly felt like listening to I've opened 22tracks up. It's also the first time I've ever really made a proper effort to listen to dubstep.

That cover isn't even going to be on the next release. I don't get how you can compare it with the albums.
-
I did not like that song as much as other songs he's done? I also apparently didn't realize it was a cover.
-
To be fair, most of the good songs on the first album were not meant to be on the first album either.
-
You mean the second disc?
I do like that one most of all.
-
I'm on a real disco binge, and 22tracks.com hasn't helped much (which means it has)
-
Yeah, the second disc is just a compilation of all the singles released before the album came out. Off hand i can't think of any tracks on the first disc that are better.
