Topic title says it all. I just met this guy last month when Maserati opened for MONO. Blew my mind, he was an incredibly talented drummer for an amazing band. Not only that, but a really sweet person. This is just fucking heartbreaking.

Saw Maserati on the same tour.  Great band, and his playing in particular really stood out.  It's a terribly sad happening.

This is indeed tragic. Fuchs was a total powerhouse, an amazingly talented drummer and awe inspiring to watch perform. The music world is surely more impoverished now that he is gone.

I can't even express how truly saddened I am by this loss. Maserati made fantastic music, and Jerry absolutely completed their sound.

I read about this earlier tonight on Invisible Oranges (http://invisibleoranges.com/2009/11/rip-gerhardt-jerry-fuchs.html). Jerry's drumming on Inventions for the New Season were a very large part of what made that album so wonderful, and between his work with Maserati and his contributions to many other projects he was a singular figure in the NYC indie rock scene. RIP

Why would you say such lies

I assume he is referring to the tragic death of also former !!! drummer Mikel Gius, who was hit by a car while riding his bike.

This is indeed tragic, i had the chance to see him perform a couple times with !!! and the Juan MacLean and he was stellar.

What a shame.

In a sad bit of irony, it's elevator safety week (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/10/nyregion/10elevator.html?_r=1&ref=nyregion).
