Hey Computers & Video Games sub-forum. I recently purchased the game The Longest Journey and its sequel Dreamfall: The Longest Journey off of Steam. I was wondering if there are any more adventure games in this vein. To be more specific: great voice acting, beautiful settings, intriguing characters which you can relate to and have realistic personalities, and philosophical plots and themes.
Before you mention anything, these are the games I already know about:
All Lucasarts adventures
Indigo Prophecy
Planescape: Torment (not adventure but inevitable someone will mention it)
I looked at Myst, but I'm not a fan of the style of gameplay (frame by frame).
Syberia looks intriguing, anyone played that?

I'm interested in this as well - I loved The Longest journey, but couldn't get hold of Dreamfall with the original (Norwegian) voice acting. And i really wanted to play a serious game with Norwegian voice acting, so I put it off until I could get hold of a version in a bin somewhere.
Someone on the dreamfall forums said I could use the voice packages from the CD-version, and overwrite the local content I get from Steam, who only offers English, but the guy who sent it to me had shit download speed from his server. If anyone has the CD, and can upload the voice files, I'd be forever thankful.

There's another game by the Indigo Prophecy people called Heavy Rain that's scheduled for 'early 2010'. From what I've seen it looks very promising; very cinematic.

as opposed to lost all the way?

Ok, a little old, but almost as good as the old LucasArts stuff: Feeble Files. Perfect point'n'click. Quite hard at times, though.
And a little newer, although I haven't played them myself, but I guess they should be pretty similar to TLJ: Runaway: A Road Adventure and its sequel Runaway: The Dream of a Turtle
Oh, and of course - the Broken Sword games. Also gaming gems. :)
