And they demonstrate interference with only one of them in a system, such as the double-slit experiment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double-slit_experiment).  They're massless, but they have energy and momentum (not much momentum compared to energy).  I'm going to go ahead and say that I'm probably the board expert on photons.

I had to cover a photonics conference for a science magazine once. Goddamn that was one boring conference. Nice canapes though. They had little peking duck pancakes, which were awesome.

Did you ever go to a science conference that was not boring?  Photonics is also the best part of optics.  Everything else is just designing lens systems, and if you thought that photonics conference was boring...

Rastafari!

From his formative years working with Desmond Dekker at a laboratory in Kingston, Jamaica, in the early 1960s, Bob Marley went on to popularise Jamaican particle physics throughout the world.

to be fair there were actually a couple of really interesting photovoltaics and telescope talks, but most of the speakers were discussing new fibre research, which is not really my cup of tea.

And actually I find ecology conferences pretty interesting. Genetics/molecular conferences are ok also, but probably not so much if you've never studied it.

You and I must never discuss science, then.  That is exactly the type of research I am doing for my PhD.  It's really, unbelievably cool stuff if you like a really hardcore combination of E&M, quantum mechanics and information theory.

Just keep them in a poor quality cavity.  The lifetime for a photon in a cavity is 1/(c*a) where a is the loss of the cavity and c is, of course, the speed of light in a vacuum.  If there is any reasonable amount of loss, then that number is very small.

Using a combination of breathing exercises, transcendental meditation, enochian chanting and certain magical formulas suggested to me by a cryptopataphysical reading of the Liber AL Vel Legis, I projected my astral self to the 12th (or mauve) level of the seventh crystalline metasphere. Guided by cunning rhythms and tones, based on secret alchemical proto-quantum formuli once in the possession of the Knights Templar, and played on intricately wrought instruments of meteoric iron, I attained that region where time has spatial dimensions, and obeys a counter-intuitive modification of hyperbolic geometry. There I talked with the nameless being sometimes referred to as the prince in white. Our conversation lasted a lifetime, and it lasted less than the blink of an eye. I returned to my mortal shell imbued with gnostic wisdom beyond imagining, which I used to create that image out of nothing more than thoughts, as easily as a normal man might write a word upon a sheet of paper.

I've been tryig this for some time now, but I think my macigal formulas are wrong. I use those:

(ln|x|/(y+sign(x)))^(sinh(y)/sin(x))=Σ(cot(i*あ)^((i+あ)!),i=1 ... inf)
|あ+x^arctan(y)|<arcsin(xy)^arccos(x^y)
|あ-xy|>=Π(sign(cos(あ-x)+arccos(あ-y))/i,i=1 ... inf)

Remember you've got to use the dry mass of Adramelech, not the wet mass, and work in base 60. Otherwise you'll be crying black effluent for a week.

Looks like your magical formulas are trigonometry, summation notation, and a bit of Japanese.  If they had worked, Japanese mathematicians would have been magical for quite some time.

Wait, they aren't?

The problem is, I can't get any dry Adramelech (off black market, that is) or the equipment to produce it. I tried to ionomoleculize Adramium and high-Melech, but the results are even worse. (You probably shouldn't eat any dog food until 2015.)

Matter barely acts as a wave thanks to it's enormous mass.  You can't even do single particle interference.

Barely.  They're good for learning stuff, but quantum optics is so much better for actually doing things.  A lot of the field of quantum engineering came from the development of QED.
