I think that with the combined guitar knowledge of this forum we should be able to work out any song.
Here's some SKWM:
Slow Hands:
intro: C | Em | D/F# | C | Aadd2 | C | Em | D/F# | C
chorus: C | G | B(maybe minor?) | Fmaj7 | C
The solo uses an E scale, with these notes:
e-12-14-15
B-12-13-15
G-11-12-14
D-12-14
A-12-14-15
E-12-14-15
Don't Make Plans This Friday:
verses: G | F | Am | C/G
chorus: Em | Fmaj7 | G Am | C
bridge, after second chorus: G Am | C
The solo starts off in E pentatonic then switches to something I can't work out.
Nerves:
verse: B | E | D (barre chords)
chorus: G | F# | B | A
Again, I think the solo is in E.
I Hope U Don't Survive:
verse: A | F#| D , bend the 4th fret on the g string
chorus is the same chords but in a different order
Insomnia
A | D | F# | D
LR72
G | C | G | C | Em | C | G | A | C

Saddest Song

Play reverently, as if a king is burying his baby son.

I have just started learning to play guitar and it super hard to find SKWM tabs

I'm just starting to learn piano. It tells me what notes to play.
-
Ever since I started learning the mandolin I've realised that guitar chords are lame because guitar tuning is lame.

Bouzouki > Mandolin

The right ones.

Suddenly remembering the time I was looking at a chord book telling me to play an L#.

anyone know what the fuck this chord is:
e|-----|
B|--7--|
G|--5--|
D|--7--|
A|--6--|
E|-----|
sounds awesome in metal/hardcore riffs, but i'm curious as to whether or not it's a legitimate chord, or if i'm just playing random frets...
-
In theory, there's nothing you can play that "isn't a chord". It might just end up being written out as "Em7sus4add9". If it sounds good, go with it!
-
that's a dim7

In attempting to play that, I learned how to play the opening piano part from "In the End" by Linkin Park. Go me.

While technically you can't play random frets, playing random frets is often the way to make unique music rather than just using, G, C, D and Em again.

Hehehehe. Gotta love Gaahl.
-
Also, you gotta love a chord that's too dissonant even for black metal.
-
Just for reference, the song 'Just Got Paid' is a ZZ Top cover.
-
dudes dont fuck with that fully diminished 7th chord. that shit is insane.
-
i mean the chord has straight up paired tritones. that right there should tell you that chord isn't trying to fuck around.
-
Also, you gotta love a chord that's too dissonant even for black metal.
it's not THAT dissonant. in a four chord punk/hardcore song, a quick half-bar of it before returning to an E chord works pretty nicely.
-
Yeah, it fits right into a an E or G harmonic minor. It's still pretty dissonant.
-
yeah that is a chord pretty much only used to seriously destabilize a key for a key change because that shit is so dissonant.
like dudes should not be trying to just noodle about with a chord like that.
-
You heard it here first, folks. That is not a chord to be noodled with.
-
....unless you are Neurosis.
-
I noodled with it.
My life, unfortunately, doesn't feel significantly changed by this fact.
-

I'm too lazy to post TAB, but the original is basically just playing D, E, and G (bending the G slightly just to give the bluesy flick between minor and major which I so love) on the A and D strings, and palm muting an open low E string on every quarter note.
