Sigh, Second Life property has gone for substantially more.  Paying large amounts of money for intangibles is nothing new.

I thought that virtual space station was an investment that was going to make the money back.  I believe I read that in the kotaku or destructoid comments, can't remember which.  If the space station was a source of income the investment seems much more believable.  But an egg?  Seriously? I wish I had 10k to throw away.

I read about the space station, and it's really as good an investment as any. You're probably worse off at the stock exchange. But a virtual egg for seventy thousand dollars? I don't know what's likely to come out of it, but it looks less like a calculated investment and more like a very, very expensive lottery ticket.
