Cap'n Jazz have announced a second reunion show. The gig will be happening on July 17 at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago, IL.
A month prior to said show, Jade Tree Records will be reissuing the band's 1998 anthology Analphabetapolothology on vinyl for the first time, as a double LP with new photos, show fliers and liner notes by Tim Kinsella. The vinyl is currently slated for a June 15, 2010 release.
The influential band first reunited last month for a mini-set in Chicago.

I think this is pretty awesome. Thoughts? I would love to own that double LP.

I'm still pretty amazed that Davey is in on this. They are definitely playing more shows as Cap'n Jazz in the summer. This won't be a one off. I'd imagine they'll play a couple of festivals too.
Better news is the existence of the new band Motel Smell, which is essentially a combination of Owls, Make Believe, Ghosts & Vodka and Joan of Arc. In fact, it's basically Joan of Arc plus Victor and minus Mike. If it's anything like Owls or Make Believe, this should be absolutely brilliant.

This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6onIqtocqM&NR=1) is a pretty good video of them playing 'Oh Messy Life' earlier this year. It sounds just right. They're all there, they all seemed to have fun. Everybody there probably had the time of their life. Victor is not only alive, he's also in excellent form. Davey has let bygones be bygones. Mike is beating the shit out of his kit. It's all good.

This is a great year for white people.

We can only hope that they play more shows outside of Chicago. Seeing them live was one thing I never thought I'd be able to do and I'll be damned if I don't see them the one time they get back together.
