I played the multiplayer demo of this and fell in love. Picked it up yesterday after work. It is totally awesome. I haven't played much of the single player campaign, but the multiplayer rocks my socks.
Anyone else pick this up?

Must..get...money...must...buy...game.

I remember being super in love with Battlefield 2, and just booted it up the other day after seeing previews for BC2. Kind of want to get the new one but I doubt my laptop will run it. Besides, I guess I can't justify spending more time on games right now....

Come on, guys. You can spawn on your squadmates. This means that if you have a good squad with headsets, you can strategically reinforce a position as if from the very air itself! Imagine that lone gunman's surprise when three more dudes magically appear in the building he is trying to storm.
Plus, drill through a wall, shoot a bitch through the hole. Plus, battles with four or five tanks all blasting away at each other while you try to dodge the fire and debris and you can't really see through the smoke, but there is a UAV overhead spotting enemies so you know they are all around you but you can't see them ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Fuckin' loved the demo.
Need this game.

It'd be pretty terrific if the server browser worked and I could connect to a game more than one in ten tries.
-
Yeah. I've been having that problem, too. I generally just play a mission in single-player and try it afterward. It'll get really old when I run out of single-player missions, though.
When I do manage to connect, though, I do some damage. I played for three hours yesterday and got the Ace pin more often than not. I was almost always several hundred points above everyone else. Here's some tips for playing as a medic:
Drop a medkit on anyone who looks like they're holding a position. Especially if they are in your squad. If you can get a medkit into a group of squadmates who are taking fire, you'll get hundreds of points in no time.
Revive everyone. All the time. not only is it awesome free points with hardly any effort, but it makes you more likely to win the round.
Use your gun. If you're carrying an LMG, they are generally SERIOUSLY accurate. I have picked off snipers just by aiming under a spot triangle and squeezing off a few bursts.
I love this game. LOL

I've been kicking ass as the engineer. I think they've tightened things up from the demo, because I feel like I reload my RPG/Recoilless rifle faster.
-
If anyone is on the PC. i desperately need a group of 4 people with ventrillo.
I feel like I'm missing out on the Higher Tier of combat. When I'm a medic just following people around... reviving them... then dying... and then watching them run away from my teary-eye'd corpse, that corpse is a mirror of what I look like beyond the screen.

If anyone is playing this on the PS3, add me! The game is loads of fun with random people (usually) but would be even beter with premade squads

Surroundings are not nearly as destructable as I first thought :(
-
I can't wait for a game in which I can drill a hole through the earth's crust with explosions, and then toss an explosive down through the hole to set off an eruption, engulfing the entire map.

Coming soon to XBAWKZ: DIG DUG EXTREEEEEEEEEME! Multi-player edition.
-
I wanted to shoot a hole in the ground then hide in it while popping up every so often with an assault rifle.
But I can't.
-
Sure you can. You just need a big enough gun.
-
or a grenade?
-
Place anti-tank mine.
Move away.
Shoot anti-tank mine.
Ta-dah!
-
Oh anti-tank mines. Any conquest map becomes a frenzied cycle of "jump into a vehicle, drive ten feet and die."

RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE!
Anyone played squad rush? I tried it out last night and it is way more fast-paced. I was able to win a few rounds without even dying. Of course, when you have someone rage quit, the whole thing gets pointless. Not sure how I feel about it.
Pros:
Smaller maps means more consistent action.
Tactical play is forced.
Less silly bullcrap (Can't "set the table")
Cons:
Smaller maps means less variety
Most people's idea of "tactics" is playing as a sniper.
Poorly balanced teams makes for a frustrating experience.
