so excite
-
i care about this band and respect their creativity.
'
when are they going to cover "athlete cured" or "garden" or "new puritan"?
-
weeee
-
Does this band actually sound like the Fall?
-
The early stuff sort of borrows some of the aesthetics of The Fall, particularly in vocal delivery.
-
Yeah, they do sound really similar. It's not quite Pavement levels but they're pretty close.
-
i have never heard a Fall song as good as "All My Friends" or "North American Scum".
in fact i'm having a hard time imagining how, musically, there is much comparison to The Fall at all? i've never heard that. i've heard people say they sound like New Order and i can see that a bit but The Fall? :?

Pavement sounded like the Fall for exactly half an album. nothing after Slanted and Enchanted is copped from the Fall. at all.

-
Fair play to him. Go out on a high (hopefully).
-
At least they're honest about it. Three albums is a pretty impressive output. So many nu-dance acts just took the mountains of blow they earned with their debuts and disappeared into the night (not to name names Crystal Castles)
-
Well, Shit.
I honestly can't begrudge the guy his decision because based on various blogs he's posted and whatnot doing what he does seems like it can be very harrowing for him but Sound of Silver is also in my top 10 albums ever and the one time I have seen them live may actually be the best show I have ever been to.
It seems that there's not much chance of Murphy moving on to other musical projects after this if his main source of stress is the process of releasing records, as opposed to say, touring which is easily cured by becoming a studio-only entity. Is it possible to just be a live entity? I guess he'll just go back to running DFA and maybe hopefully producing?
-
Does he have stage fright or something?
-
Let's hope the last record's a good 'un then.
-
I am so pissed that I decided not to go to Sasqautch now
-
I see what you did there
-
boo
-
Given that Murphy just scored Greenberg (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1234654/) on top of recording and probably producing the new album I'm guessing that he's feeling a little burned out and that he will reemerge in a year with an another band name, a garage-style guitarist, and hauntingly similar material.

"Drunk Girls" is on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbTTErVkqq0). It doesn't swipe from "Boys Keep Swinging" as much as "M.O.R." did, but it's close.
Which is to say I dig it.
-
Lala has a better quality stream of it. It's about on par with "North American Scum," although I enjoyed that one better. Who knows, "Drunk Girls" might be a grower. Anyway, doesn't deter me from my excitement about the record.

I got more of a White Light/White Heat vibe from it

"This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by EMI Music."
What the fuck DFA Records?

Still waiting for that blowjob.
-
I'm going to wait for the album to come out on CD and experience it in full. I loved the last two records, so this should be interesting, especially being a sign-off for the name.
-
It's hard not to be super excited for it after watching all of these (http://lcdsoundsystem.com/clip1/index2.html)
-
I'm finding it hard to shake the feeling that those clips weren't all a super elaborate pisstake. Like how Murphy (and many of the others) is wearing more or less all white at all times
-
No, he said that he was trying to create some kind of cult vibe in the mansion. I don't think that's particularly weird as far as in studio indulgence goes.
Liars wear white all the time. Deerhoof used to do it too.
-
I think the dude just likes wearing white, and everybody else wants to be him
-
They don't wear white?

Even when they are just hangin' out?
