Is there a back story to this webcomic artist rivalry I missed? Was I in the bathroom at the time?

Most webcomic artists I know cooperate and even willingly share characters, do filler comics for one another. It gets everyone's strips noticed by a larger audience, but this feels like a genuine "I want to see you die in a fire" hatefest.

Something like that was the introduction to a monday strip of both some time ago. It started there iirc.

  Um, it's pretty freakin' obvious that he's just joking around.  Using saracasm.  You know.

David and Jeph were caught in a compromising position a few years ago, by their wives/girlfriends, in a hotel room late one night during a comic convention.  They've spent the time since trying to make it absolutely clear that they are not completely gay for each other.  

Mostly by drawing scat porn of one another.

...makes you wonder what kind of compromising position they were caught in.   :| :P
