Quote
The Hollywood Reporter claims that Scott plans to give the film “a futuristic sheen along the lines of his iconic Blade Runner,” but back in August 2007 Scott told the LA Times that it “ought to be humorous and for the family”. Scott explained that the humor will come out of the drastic changes in economic class, “particularly when your uncle suddenly gets [Park Place]” … “You watch people change. You’re witness to Jekyll and Hyde. Somewhere in that is a hysterically amusing and I think rather exciting film.”

but if you think that's bad... (http://www.firstshowing.net/2009/05/18/universal-hires-peter-berg-to-direct-their-battleship-movie/)

i can only hope that david lynch gets to do candyland

Actually, the guy who did Enchanted is directing Candy Land and the screenplay is being written by the guy who wrote Sherlock Holmes and Tropic Thunder.

God dammit.

The comments on the article are pretty good.

That is basically the only positive thing I can think of right now. Unless he can somehow make this as awesome as Clue, I don't see how it would work.

me and my friend used to love Clue because we were young boys and sometimes the maid's outfit would show off more leg than necessary and my god, it was glorious.

well, glorious to a ten year old anyway.

Clue has a plot! Several people meet in a house and someone gets killed and you have to solve the mystery. Monopoly is circling a board with a dog or an iron and you either pay bills or buy hotels and try to make as much money as possible. That's not really a plot.

Clue was totally awesome when I was 10, but it's one of those movies that didn't get less awesome with age.

It's still one of my favorites. Especially when you watch the version with all three alternate endings.
