Title: Hey you fuckin' squares howsabout some INTERSTATE '76
Post by: KvP on 16 May 2010, 03:18
It's The Road Warrior, crossed with a Rudy Ray Moore picture. There's a button you can press to request a poem to be read over CB radio by a soul brother. That in itself is worth paying for.

Coming just as soon as I upload the installer and verify download integrity...

I played the hell out of this game. Nothing like circling a car and pinging away at their window with your pistol until you hear the horn blare and the enemy car coast to a stop.

By the way, was there ever a way to get the shotgun? It was on the item list, but I never got it.

Note: For those people playing on Vista / Windows 7, you'll probably notice the color corruption that's common to old games played on new OSes (Starcraft, Fallout, etc.) For 7 at least, this can be avoided by disabling the explorer.exe shell right before starting the game, and enabling glide for I'76. This is easily done by creating a batch file. I've uploaded the batch file I made and you can download it here (place it in the directory where the I76 executable is located):

To make your own batch file -
1. Create a .txt file
2. Copy and paste this:
Code: [Select]
@echo off
taskkill /f /im explorer.exe
i76.exe -glide
explorer
3. Change the file extension of the file from .txt to .bat, and now when you run the batch file, explorer will close before you start the game and start up again after you exit Interstate '76. The "-glide" should ensure that the graphics will not bug out on you in-game (FMVs and the like might not fare so well). This may also work on Vista but I am not entirely sure it will.

I played the hell out of this back when. I won't have time for games for another two weeks, but I will definitely give it a shot again.

I wonder if multiplayer will work.
