Title: May I present for your listening pleasure... Reachback

Reachback (http://redbullbedroomjam.com/band/videos/reachback-hands-hearts-down) are a group of energetic young pop rockers from the UK. Currently they have amateur status, although hopefully that will change this year.

The link is to their video entry for the Red Bull Bedroom Jam competition, where the winner gets to play at a major festival. From there you can get to their Myspace page which has a couple more of their original songs and a rocked-up cover of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance". If you see them play live (as I did last night) they do a Just Dance/Poker Face mash-up which is even better.

The contest is neck-and-neck now, so if you like them and think they deserve a shot at a festival, please do any or all of the following before 3pm UTC tomorrow (Monday):
1.Vote 5 stars at Red Bull
2.Post comments at Red Bull
3.Play the video at Red Bull
4.Click on the Retweet link and re-tweet it
5.Click on the Facebook share link
6.Click the Myspace link and play their songs
7.Get more people to do the same.

Full disclosure - the guitarist/songwriter is my nephew. But I would love their sound even if he wasn't.

They also have two tracks up on iTunes.

"Reachback (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reachback) is the effect an impending atypical event can have on a person's schedule as well as his or her mental state before the event begins. The term was coined by Eric Berne, the founder of transactional analysis. He talks about this in his book What Do You Say After You Say Hello?."

You would need to ask the band members why they picked that for a name!

Yes, I'm not sure they took Full Metal Jacket into account when they picked that name...
