It is not out yet in Australia, but I do really want it. I should probably finish the first one before I get it though.

My brother got it on Friday and is already like, to the last galaxy. He's playing the crap out of it.

I got it the day it came out and have 80 stars right now. It's wonderful, but they weren't kidding when they said it they were making it harder than the first game. Star 2 of Melty Monster Galaxy nearly drove me insane.

I got it halfway through last week, I'm about 45 stars in, and it's freaking awesome.
It is definitely harder than SMG1, just like they said it would be, and I'm loving the new powerups and mechanics. Cloud Mario and the SpinDrill are definitely new favorites. Some of the spin-drill puzzles are really cool, even if they aren't always the most difficult.

the second player's role is much larger in this game than it is in the last game, which is great because in SMG1 all you did was point at shit and it was still super fun! i have not yet played as P2 myself, but yesterday my friend and i played for quite a number of hours and the way she helped me made me kinda confused as to how i would have beaten the level by myself (it was the one where you have to lead all the giant chomps into holes). the second player can get coins for you, and 1-Ups, and freeze enemies as well as just fuckin' kill them while mario just runs around freeloading.
but god, this game is way too much fun, i just started on world 5 and i am still experiencing moments of disbelief where i just cannot believe how much creativity the mario galaxy people had left in them after the first one. music's wonderful as well, as expected. and i have only 50 stars out of 240... this is going to be a good start to summer.

I went over to my friend's house today and found out he had it and I was like "FUCK YESSSS" and played it for like 8 hours and have 60-some odd stars and basically I spent all last week playing SMG1 and by the end I was burned out and decided I probably don't want to play SMG2 because I spent so much time on 1 and then I guess the fact that I spent 8 hours playing today speaks for itself huh?
Fucking hell, it really is the best, purest platforming experience ever.
A) Yeah, that rolling chomp level seems like it'd be impossible without a co-star (my wife was in the passenger seat for that one).
B) Thus far it is not nearly as hard as advertised. There's been some tricky stuff, like the paint rolling ball speed comet and some purpa coins, but nothing that took more than like...5 lives.
C) Bryan said last week that sometimes it's like the best Sonic game in years and holy shit is that true. The tall trunk slide (especially the purple coin comet) and Dash pepper shit is crazy fun.

All I've got is maybe Bowser in SMW and probably a couple of the Yoshi's Island bosses.

by the end of the game, Bowser from original Super Mario Bros was kind of hard to get by. Though that was mostly because it was really hard to reach him with your power ups intact.

Bought it yesterday. I am at 30-odd stars. God, that game is fun. I might need to put my social life on hold.
