Did Jeph sneakily update the comic sometime between about 1 last night and today? Because I could have sworn that the previous version of the comic involved Yelling Bird lighting fireworks off of Sweet-tits' butt crack... Perhaps he felt it was a bit too demeaning?
Unfortunately, I can't find a cached version of the page so I can show y'all. My inner scientist bays for proof, which I cannot seem to provide...

It was changed, due to being "creepy and offensive". According to the man himself.
-
It did kind of creep me out, yeah...
-
That's what Yelling Bird's supposed to do.
-
Creepy and offensive?
it was neither

Creepy and offensive?
it was neither
Obviously Jeph thought it was, and in the end his opinion is the only one that matters when it comes to the comic.

well good thing you can delete pictures from the internet
oh wait...
-
And this version is supposed to be less offensive?
-
If you're offended by either comic, then I suggest the problem lies with you.

Just found my copy. It's a good thing I don't trust the internet to archive the things I want to keep, like a complete copy of the QC archive. Here it is for those wondering what the fuss is about. Those who don't want it, shut your complain hole; he's drawn more graphic things than this, and more creepy, just not at the same time. I'll even spoi- what the? Proper permissions? What permissions do I need to spoiler tag something? Well, here's the link then: http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/6744/1690.png (http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/6744/1690.png)

Thank you.

Yelling bird is offensive. THAT'S WHY HE'S FUNNY JEORPH
-
i was thinking about this, and while i still don't get what is particularly offensive about someone firing bottle rockets from their intergluteal cleft, i suspect what jeph thought was creepy was not so much the comic it's self, as it was the idea of marking his birthday with such a comic. it is conceivable that someone (particularly someone unfamiliar with the yelling bird character) might read it as a sort of 'gift to himself' and infer that jeph actually rather enjoys the idea. to such a person, jeph might very likely appear to be a creepy motherfucker.
if he had used it to denote any other special event, this might not have been a concern.
