So I don't really know to what extent any of you guys are into Hong Kong action films, but I've heard a lot of good things about director Johnnie To and been meaning to see something by him. Any good place to start? Anything simply must-see? What's the word?

Mad Detective, whoooa.
Still not seriously though, the Election films are probably the best place to start if you're interested, though Mad Detective (which is fun as all hell) isn't too shabby a place either. If you like Kitano's yakuza flicks you should love To, who admittedly is much more serious. I haven't seen enough of his stuff to say more than that, but if you like fun ultra violence you should be chill.

I heard awesome, awesome things about Exiled, which I still need to see. It's a gangster pic that turns into an Old West heist movie.

So it's kinda like a combination of Big Money Hu$tlas and Big Money Ru$tlas?

lol, Dovey
Yeah, cool. Thanks, knives. I'll try to check out the Election movies. Exiled will be my next stop after that, John.
