Screeeenshoooots! (http://kotaku.com/5627537/batman-arkham-city-screen-shots//gallery/2)
It's goddamn pretty. GODDAMN.
-
Not that it matters, but every time I see that Harley design it reminds me strongly of Jeanette from VM: Bloodlines. I will still play the shit out of this game when it comes out though, so like i said, doesn't matter.
-
Just read about this in GI yesterday, sounds really good. The cover art is fucking stunning, by the way.
Not fully into Catwoman's costume, or Harley's new one for that matter. They're not bad by any mean, but they're aren't my ideal, I guess.
-
Eh, well, I've never particularly liked any of the Catwoman costumes, but the goggles & Emma Peel style catsuit combo has been around for a good decade or so now so at least I'm used to it. The only thing new about it is her sudden inability to manage a zipper.
-
I'm kind of looking forward to a co-op option
-
Yeah, I'm hoping for a Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory sort of multi-play game. The screenshots look a whole lot like Condemned 2 to me, so I'm deferring judgment until we get more word about gameplay and world design. I found the first game to be largely monotonous, even if it was possessed of an admirable faithfulness to DC's property.
-
It's about time we had a game where Batman beats up juggaloes
-
Harley looks like she fell into a Bloodrayne game

You're a fucking terrible person.

I think Harley's new design is a marginal improvement over the terrible one in the first game, although I'm really not feeling the pigtails at all. Two-Face looks pretty good, Catwoman is alright.
-

Some of the thugs in the first game were in clown face paint.
I've never played the game, and I'm kind of afraid to, after seeing really good people play it and make it look like it should actually be if it were batman doing the fighting. I would do terribly, and it wouldn't be nearly as fun.
-
the first game ruled john what are you talking about. you honestly got sick of taking thugs the fuck down?
-
(http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/6771/dwi12.gif)
In all honesty, I really liked the "Spirit of Arkham" stuff and the character bios and BlahShock audio diaries and all that, but by the time I got to the Banelings I had pretty much tuned out of the fighting.
-
Man, why the fuck is everything so shiny. The lighting looks all wrong in just about every screenshot. Other than that it looks pretty good, and I hope it looks better in motion.
-
Needs Nightwing.

it's ugly because the first one was ugly

i don't understand why you're implying that i have to come to terms with your crippling failings as a person

UE3.
-
That was, I think, a large part of its appeal.
-
And that it was done well, unlike all of the Double Dragon Batman games, which were terrible.

HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS (http://gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2010/08/09/arkham-asylums-secret-room.aspx)
-
I'm sick to goddamn death of videogames hyper sexualised female characters. Batman has always been fairly ridiculous but lately Catwoman has struck me as a particularly practical person (I blame the goggles) who wouldn't be caught dead with her top zipped halfway down unless she was actively trying to seduce someone.
I know these games are trying to cater to a broad market largely believed to be teenage boys but seriously can we not as a society get over tits? I for one love tits but there's a place and a time and in the middle of a supervillian warzone is not it.
Surely the slinky catsuit is sexy enough that she doesn't need her tits out the whole time?
-
Blame the consumer, so that we may not hold anyone accountable ever.
My favorite thing is still this (http://forums.questionablecontent.net/index.php/topic,24903.msg954717.html#msg954717). One imagine concept artists really actually think that women look like that normally, somehow.
-
Without using too much hyperbole, I really don't know if there's going to be a game after Arkham City that will be good enough. It won't be the new games' fault, it's just that having a game that lets you play as Batman, and from the looks of things, do EXACTLY what Batman does nightly (grapple real, legit buildings, not oddly inappropriately placed gargoyles, and leap from rooftops to take down thugs and baddies) I just will have trouble going back to normal games. Arkham Asylum was phenomenal, and I felt all it was really missing was a larger scale. I don't think they could have really addressed my complaints more directly. It's one of maybe 3 games I am actually looking forward to.

Brand new trailer showing off a new villain (http://www.gametrailers.com/video/vga-10-batman-arkham/708342)
Sort of very fascinating since he's also rumored to be the big villain of the next Nolan movie too.
-
Yes send a group of armed goons to fight Batman in the dark
great idea
-
The trailer makes me all happy inside.
-
Wow, Sir Christopher Lee is voicing Hugo Strange...
EPIC!
-
20 things you may not know (http://www.1up.com/previews/batman-arkham-city-twenty-things)
-
Goddamn! I am SO EXCITE for this game. Been watching Jimmy replaying it lately and playing some of the beat down modes. SHIT YES.

Fucking new trailer (http://uk.ign.com/videos/2011/03/15/batman-arkham-city-this-aint-no-place-for-a-hero-trailer)
I had somehow forgotten this game was coming out amongst all the other huge releases this year.
This was a mistake.
-
What are you, dense? Are you retarded or something?
-
I wonder if the higher you are the more damage your kick does when you swoop down on someone.
-
Did not like the trailer. Did anyone else think that the music didn't do a good job of complimenting the video?
Now I'm curious to see how much gliding there's going to be in this game. The kind of Batman I like to play is much more in the shadows and on the ground than flying around everywhere. I'm watching my friend play it and she relies heavily on gadgets whereas my perfect scenario involves me silently taking down every henchman. I'm hoping that there will be as much, if not more, freedom to stealth the way you want in this.
Game is looking quite nice, looking forward to seeing the completely polished final version.
-
I think the flying looks a bit goofy but it's not something I feel comfortable dissing as a game mechanic until I try it since I have enjoyed similar stuff in other games. Having a few different ways to get around the same environment can help keep things from getting a bit stale, if nothing else.
-
And so the concept of Day-One-DLC continues to flourish and fester
-
I am okay with this.
-
But it does have people saying, "If Tim Drake is Robin...does that mean...."
-
But it does have people saying, "If Tim Drake is Robin...does that mean...."
Nightwing game. Do want. Now.
-
The fact they're using Tim Drake for it still leaves me a lot of hope that Nightwing is a possibility. I can't think of any other reason why they wouldn't use Dick Grayson since he isn't actually a hated character.
-
Dang. That's actually an awesome Robin.
-
They are also saying that you can also use the new Red Robin costume.
-
i wish his head wasn't shaved though
-
As long as video game character hair is so god awful and shiny I will continue to favor shaved heads.
-
Three pre-order costumes. Though as far as I know they are only in the UK
(http://img810.imageshack.us/img810/8955/preorderbonuses.jpg)
also 70's Batman
(http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/6572/sbat.jpg)
Also Amazon's pre-order is gonna be a Dark Knight Returns costume
-
Those are pretty badass looking.
-
I only really like the one in the middle and the 70's style. The Batman in the Future and TAS!Batman just look so out of place. The latter especially although that could be fixed if all of the characters get a TAS!costume as well.
Which reminds me, did anyone ever see those costume mods for Arkham Asylum? I saw a pretty ugly Batman in the Future one once.
-
That TAS one looks great. Nice that they actually changed the model, not just the colour like the others.
-
Full thing so far
(http://www.blogcdn.com/www.comicsalliance.com/media/2011/08/4czmn.jpg)
I like the Dark Knight Returns costume, but in Arkham City he kind of looks like a fat Batman
I like the Batman Beyond costume, but I kind of want him to be less beefy/muscley. The whole deal was that Terry was different and the suit did most of the heavy lifting with Terry being the brains.
I love the Animated Series one, hope the have an eye narrowing button, but it looks really out of place compared to the graphics
And info (http://www.comicsalliance.com/2011/08/02/arkham-city-skins-animated-beyond-dark-knight/) on how to get them
-
tee hee Fatman
-
Agreed with how bulky and chunky the Batman Beyond is.
The third costume skin is Earth-One Batman and is the look that DC have currently designed for their reboot.
-
There's probably a minimum model size to match the existing model so they can't make it too small otherwise he's gonna be mashing dudes with the air 3 inches from his elbow.
-
Dark Knight Returns might have just made this a must purchase for me. Damn that takes me back.
-

People were saying, "Why not just use the Robin model for it?" Then again Bruce did wear the suit for some time before finally giving it up
-
Here's something that was pointed out to me yesterday. You know how the cape is central to getting around in this game/useful in combat? Well the Batman Beyond suit doesn't have a cape. But it does have...POP OUT WINGS!!!

Just bumping because OH MY GOD 2 DAYS.
EDIT for awesome story. I trade in pretty much all of my games. I normally play them through once or twice, have a dabble with the mulitiplayer then get rid of it to help get cash off something else. So recently I got Dead Island, completed it once, played a few missions through again in co-op, then was done with it. Got Gears 3, the special edition in the metal case (just because it worked out about the same once they'd taken off the pre-order deposit) played it through on Hardcore then Insane, played a bit of Horde, but I've never been a huge fan of the multiplayer in Gears anyway. Then decided to trade them both in to get Rage. Here's the awesome part;
Apparently Gamestation were offering £10 off Rage when you traded in a game for it. Which meant apparently, as I was trading in 2 games, I got £20 off. I still think something dodgy happened there, because when I left the shop with my copy of Rage, I had not only not paid a penny for it, but also clocked up an extra £30 on a gift voucher AND managed to collect over £10 of points on my loyalty card. Which will be enough to get Arkham City.
2 games for 2 games is sweet when it comes to trade-ins!
-
Picked up it today. It's awesome so far but I don't think I'm really appreciating it because I'm just so tired...
