Indie Heavy Hitters Pack: Audiosurf, Shattered Horizon, World of Goo, Zeno Clash - $20.

Considering I don't have any of the games in the Potato Pack that might be a damn good deal. Considering price that is.
It looks like these deals are going to hit on Dec 20th.
Also around the same time the Oddbox is coming to Steam. It has all 4 Oddworld games in it and should be marked half off for the first day it's released. This should be on the 20th as well. So it's going to be around $12.50 I think.
Interesting stuff.

I've bought the two first Oddworld games of steam for $2 apiece, so that's not such a big deal. The Potato pack seems awesome - I've been wanting audiosurf and Super Meat Boy, and at least some of the others should be good. I've heard good things about Zombie Driver, so I'll have to check out the fright pack as well.
Oh God there's a pack with Zeno Clash (which is great and I don't have), Shattered Horizon (ditto - multiplayer FPS in free space. It works amazingly well), Audiosurf (ditto) and World of Goo (which I already have on steam, but those people deserve more money). Buying iiiit!
-
I think I might have to get the potato bundle. I am interested in AAAAaaaaAAA or however you spell it, really want killing floor, and several of the others I have been wanting.
-
If you fucks don't get the Potato pack for Amnesia alone I will murder you in your dreams and make your living life an absolute nightmare of otherworldly proportions.
-
so I'll have to check out the fright pack as well.
I am going to buy the Fright pack because of The Void which is from the same company that created Pathologic a game that had a ton of praise despite it being very buggy and rough.
The Void looks interesting.

I can't see the potatoe pack :( Is it just me?
Also, BF: bad company 2 for $10.19 dollars. Is it worth it? (I really want the bf: vietnam expansion.... but right now is 15dlls)
Thanks in advance :D
-
No sign of the potato pack yet...
Gotta keep a lookout though because the rest of the info from the leak was good.
I picked up the Fright Pack, the Oddbox and Super Meat boy.
Gonna be some really nice daily deals with this too I think.
-
Ended up buying BFBC2 and the vietnam expansion. What the heck, $15 is not that much for a beefy game like BF. I also have fond memories of LAN parties with the original bg1942: vietnam expansion... so cheers!
I bought "AaaaaaaA complete disregard for gravity" a few weeks ago for 2.5 dollars in a sale at the time. It is an ok game, and have gone halfway through the game already. For less than 3 dollars I regret nothing, but I wouldn't get it at regular cost.
The bad news for me is that I want one or two games out of each pack, but none of the other. 5 dollars is a great deal for those combos, but I know I won't play any of the others... and I don't have the option to gift them away :( (don't see it anyway)
Too bad. Why can't they make a "pick 3 for 5 bucks"? Oh well, Luminues, Chime and Puzzle Agent will have to wait.
*got rid of some typos

Um... if you'd pay $5 for just 2 of the games, what's wrong with paying $5 for all 5 of the games? It's not like anyone's going to force you to download them, keep them installed and play them regularly. And who knows? Maybe you'll wind up liking the rest of them anyway.
Also, Caleb, you're missing half of the games in the Heavy Hitters pack.
I picked up Super Meat Boy and Eets. For $6 total, they're incredible deals. I would have gone for Braid, but decided to be charitable and picked it up in the Humble Indie Bundle instead. Still not sure if I'm going to wind up with Trine or not, but there's still time to decide. Hell, I'll probably wind up with the new Bethesda pack they're running before this sale's through.

Spent £65 on games in 2 days.
When I look at it like that I would rather buy 2 awesome new games than 30 little ones or something.
http://www.steamcalculator.com/id/cwj/uk
Some stuff like wild metal have package inflated prices (50-70 quid for a £4 game) but that's still alot of money to be spending on games even if alot were on sale or in packages.
If you have not got them I would suggest a few from todays sale and the publisher catalogs - Bad company 2, KOTOR, DoW, GRID, Plants vs zombies, Torchlight.
If anyone can recommend a game they think is actually worth the money please say so, alot of games that were £30 retail a few months ago are now pnly a few quid but still not worth your bandwidth nevermind your monies (AVP is a pile of shit I bought on release because all my friends were doing it and we were gonna play it together, worst game ever) so it would be nice to know what ones are super good and worth a look.

You're right, and as I said earlier they are marked at an excellent price. The thing is that I don't want to spend so much money on games anymore! T_T. I don't even have time to play them like I used to. It was just a silly way for me to rationalize not purchasing them. It was somewhat futile since I did end up buying chime for 2.5 dollars.
Right now I'm using all my force of will to not get torchlight, grid, puzzle quest 2, top gun and recettear. :psyduck:
This is beyond insane, those prices I mean, and the reliability of steam... we truly are in the future.
I wholeheartedly expect this kind of business takes gamestop (et al) out of business. I'm pro first-sale doctrine, mind you, but gamestop operates like a pawnshop instead of a gameshop. Time to bring those buffoons down.
And to think I almost bought Empire Total War at full price.
Ps. Chime? Rocking.
BFBC2: Vietnam? Double Rocking.
Puzzle Quest? MINDBLOWN. I know, I'm a hundred years late to this party, but I don't care... I'm so happy T___T

3 Euros for all Overlord games.
... yeah
-
Dammit Steam! Why do you tease me with Civilization being 25% off? Damn my shitty laptop!
In other news I just got Counterstrike: Source for my younger brother for 5 bucks 3 minutes before the deal ended, so that's cool.
-
Civilization 5 does NOT live up to hype. Stick with civ IV and buy a copy of Alpha Centauri for 10 bucks off ebay.
-
When Civ 4 first came out I didn't like it as much as Civ 3, but I gave it time and eventually of course it is far better, I swear I think these games just take a little time, and anyway there's still a lot of things about Civ 4 that I still don't like. When I get a better computer I buying it, so poo (wouldn't be buying it because of any hype factor anyway).
-
Honestly, I never got into Civ 3--Civ 2 remained vastly superior for me right up until Civ 4 came out. From what I can tell, Civ 5 isn't "better" or "worse" than Civ 4--it's simply "different." They changed enough about the game to make it a new, incomparable experience, and yet left enough the same to keep it good.
ALSO, goddamn these sales have sucked a ton of money out of me. In the last four days, I've bought Batman: Arkham Asylum, Borderlands, Darksiders, and Mirror's Edge.
-
I've been playing the civ games, and alpha centauri, since they came out. I think its more than just being different from the others that lead to my dissappointment, but maybe you'll enjoy it more than I have.
-
So far I have gotten:
Super Meat Boy
Serious Sam HD (I paid the $7 price for it Damn it!)
Killing Floor
Indy Fright Bundle
The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom
Time, Gentlemen, Please! & Ben There, Dan That -
Monkey Island SE Bundle
Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse
DeathSpank
Day of Defeat: Source
The Oddbox
The only one I feel bad about buying (Besides overpaying for Serious Sam HD) is the Oddbox which has generated some complaints due to poor porting.

For the next 25ish (?) minutes or so they've got NWN2 Complete on sale for $10. Definitely a great deal if you have any affinity for RPGs. Mask of the Betrayer is worth at least that much.
-
Yeah I saw that yesterday, if I had a computer that could run it I would have been all over it. However I did get Sid Meier's Pirates for 2.50 for that burst of nostalgia, since I rented the Wii version that came out a while back and holy shit it sucked giant hairy donkey balls (The control scheme really absolutely destroyed the game), just about to go check out what deals they have today.
-
Mask of the Betrayer .
I already have a physical copy of that. Is Mask a sequel to the first one or a brand new story? Because I stopped playing the main NWN 2 because it was a bit boring but I will complete it if you are playing the same guy in MotB.
-
It's a continuation.
-
Amnesia is on sale today!
Plus you get an extra bonus low price if you have Penumbra activated on your steam account. Some people have even got the lower price if they activated the Humble Bundle Version of Penumbra on Steam. Hurrah!
Also Plants VS Zombies is on sale for the 4 people in the world who have no played that awesome game.
-
Buy Amnesia you fucks!
-
$4.80 if you have Penumbra from the first Indie Bundle installed to Steam.
Amazing deal if you like scary games I suppose.
-
The two first STALKER games for 5 Euros - 83% off. 3 hours left.
Those are awesome, awesome games. Awesome games.
edit: the Witcher was not as good a purchase as I had thought it to be. I've heard a lot of good things about the game, and the enchanted edition was said to remove most of the problems, but so far I've got a number of issues - the combat is interesting with the different styles at first, but it quickly comes down to just identifying the enemy type, and clicking selecting the right one, and then hack and slash as normal. The story is... well, interesting enough, but nothing spectacular. The camera is a bit clumsy; way too responsive up-down, way to unresponsive right-left, and if you are in crowded quarters, it changes pretty instantly as your dude moves around, making clicking again for combos almost impossible. The camera making fighting harder is never a good thing. All in all I'm a bit underwhelmed, especially after playing Risen, which was a pearl I hadn't really heard much of at all, but really stood out with excellent combat and a pretty short, but great story.
The Witcher's approach to sex is pretty much one of the worst I've seen, even worse than the Baldur's Gate era - you can randomly have sex with a bunch of chicks (I guess 50 or so, from looking at walkthoughs), and it's just... meaningless. It's like this own metagame where comming up with the best one-liners gets you a pic of the chick you are banging without any context, and it doesn't seem to have any consequences emotionally for the character whatsoever. It has every single problem that's outlined here (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/extra-credits/2505-Sex-in-Games)
-
The sex is a pointless addition and tasteless throughout, but the story is really, really good if you stick with it.
