Title: the "speaking in tongues" font (QC 1872)
Post by: fearless_fool on 01 Mar 2011, 17:27
When Hannelore starts speaking in tongues in today's strip, I thought to myself -- I've seen this before.  (Can anyone cite the previous example?)

But the real question: does anyone recognize the font that JJ is using?  I have this suspicion that it could be decoded into something intelligible.  And now I'm curious...

Hannelore Fhtang (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1753) and Ia! Ia! (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1754)

They're consecutive.

Also, there's been a translation over in the WCDT already.

EDIT:
"Disturb me and i shall summon a horde of shoggoths to rend your flesh!"

I was going to be lazy, but here it is.

From the current WCDT thread:

...Jeph later revealed in a post/tweet/something that the font he used was Miskatonic (http://www.fontspace.com/blambot/miskatonic).

Some of the characters bear a resemblance to hiragana characters though.  Either that or I'm really sleep-deprived and just seeing things.
