Title: Anyone going to / playing SXSW?
Post by: ALoveSupreme on 09 Mar 2011, 13:58: I'm heading down with Joie de Vivre. We'll just be there for the day we play (Wed. the 16th).
Anyone else gonna be there? If you are in a band that is playing, maybe I will be able to check it out!

On another note, Withered Hand (http://www.saidthegramophone.com/archives/withered_hand_-_good_news.php), this awesome artist from around these parts got denied his visa to the US so he can't go. Which I find absolutely ridiculous. (there's a petition, i'm not sure what it'll achieve, but since it is such a silly situation, go ahead and sign it (http://www.thepetitionsite.com/2/get-withered-hand-to-sxsw/) if you feel like it)

edit: apparently they released an album last year? i hadn't heard a peep out of them since haunted moon sinking, this is fantastic news

And, yeah, the Plush place is 21+ but I guess they worked something out where if you are 18+ you can pay $2 (?) to get in.

I do fucking love tequila. Also there is a wednesday thing at the Jester King microbrewery that honestly I do not give a fuck about musically but they are unveiling a new beer collab with some danish microbrewery called Mikkeler that they are gonna be giving away fo free. Also, free tacos!
