Title: Mosfilm on YouTube
Post by: Inlander on 04 May 2011, 19:11
The Russian film studio Mosfilm (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mosfilm) has created an incredible YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/mosfilm (http://www.youtube.com/mosfilm). They've already put up a heap of films and they're gonig to put up a heap more. The channel appears to be entirely in Russian but the films are subtitled in English. This isn't just any studio: directors who worked for Mosfilm include Tarkovsky and Eisenstein, so we're talking top-shelf Russian cinema here.

But hell, why are you listening to me bang on when you could be watching Andrei Rublev in its entirety in only two videos! Legally! FOR FREE!!

The Elem Klimov films are also worth looking up. Agony is nearly Rublev's equal and isn't even his best film.
