NO SERIOUSLY IT LOOKS COOL
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5h2TkpFEsn8&feature=share
The backstory so far seems to be that you are an Air Marshall on the flight that Tommy sees during the beginning of the original Prey, and then cuts to a year(?) later and you are a space bounty hunter.
If even half the game plays as well as this trailer looks, then I am sold.

I always felt Prey 1 was underrated. It was a solid shooter with cool story telling and art direction.
Now the sequel looks really sweet. The concept art is really sweet.

Yeah, I always felt like Prey got a lot of crap solely for being a launch title, but it was probably the best game the 360 had at or around launch.
I'm hoping we get some more info once E3 dies down, because I am curious exactly how much of the stuff in the trailer you can actually do.

Hint: a lot

To be perfectly honest I just found the first Prey to be incredibly boring. Not bad, it was a solid game it just did nothing for me. This though... this looks damn interesting.
-
But what about dem Cherokees :psyduck:
I was actually rather interested in their portrayal, tbh with you
And now it's some dark gritty sci-fi on some random alien planet - which is cool an' all, not going to lie, but how does this link back to the first game?

Never played the first but wow this looks interesting. Space Westerns always perk my interest.
Even though I never played the first, I was aware of its premiss. I too wonder how exactly they are connected.
edit: from the wiki
The story of Prey 2 focuses on U.S. Marshall Killian Samuels, who starts the game on a passenger flight which is suddenly abducted by the Sphere (the airplane is seen crashing in the original Prey). After a short battle with some aliens, he is knocked uncounscious after which the plot jumps forward several years. Samuels is now a bounty hunter on the alien world Exodus. Though he is aware of his profession and has retained his skills, he has no memory of what happened in the time that passed since his abduction.[8] He initially believes himself to be the only human on Exodus until he runs into Domasi "Tommy" Tawodi, whom he has apparently met before.[9] Killian then resumes his bounty hunter activities while recovering his memory.

Ohhh now I'm joining the dots.
Well good! There's some connection to the first, at least. Would have been odd for there not to, considering the integral role of the Sphere and everything up to whatever the fuck Tommy was actually doing when he was stepping through that thingy at the end of the game.

And from IGN: (http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/116/1162085p1.html)
It's no longer a linear tale with a few neat effects, but an open-world style game that mixes quests with a morality system and Mirror's Edge-esque movement capabilities.
If you want, you can make Killian push an innocent alien over a railing and watch as the victim helplessly plummets into the abyss between buildings. Keep that sort of thing up and eventually a disc-like airborne security ship will descend upon your position and open fire. These can be killed, but if you keep disturbing the peace in senselessly violent ways, there'll be more resistance. Depending on how nice or ruthless you decide to be, expect to not only exchange fire with security forces but to affect your relationship with vendors and the sorts of missions you can access.
This is jumping straight towards the top of my "oh my, gotta' try this" games list.

Sooooooooooo GTA notoriety system in space + morality scale?
Um not sounding particularly inspired but okay I'll enjoy it for what its worth if it works the system right
