I discovered QC just a few weeks ago (following some link in the XKCD-Forum IIRC) and enjoyed a pretty good time reading through the archives.
Having done that I'm sentenced to hold onto my patience now for the new strips to trickle out. Well, good times aren't made to last ...

Well, you can always archive-binge again.
And again...
Welcome to the forums!

Thanks.
It actually came to me as a kind of surprise, that I was so hooked by QC. For my usual taste it's waaaay too soapy.
But that surprise came with hindsight, as the story evolved. What did hook me was the humor. And then there's a certain ... well, call it substance, call it gravity ...
The things Jeph invents are not based on thin air, you can sense some solid world behind it, be it the real world of plausible human (mis)behaviour and the actual place, which provides the stage for the scenes, or the "QC-world", with sentient robots and a broadsword-swinging barista in broad daylight. It is worth reading over again, and then maybe again only to admire the development of Jeph's craftsmanship.

A dude with a Wally-avatar is, of course, very welcome here :-) Wish I had thought of that, myself (grumble, grumble). My attitude to many a thing in life as well as my hairline has been converging to that of the veteran engineer to a somewhat disturbing degree.

Actually, my first idea was a Dogbert-avatar, since he is my favorite Dilbert character.
But on second glance it looked too braggy, so I settled for the "Dude who finds his way, no matter what". ;)

Welcome, Random Al Yousir.
I've not been reading that long myself but I'm more familiar with the archives than I should be.
