Although Jeph hasn't updated the news post (I guess he's still asleep), Book 2 is now on sale at Topatoco.  Move fast if you want to get it personalised!

Is there something wrong with me that I can't find it on their site? I get the vol. 2 announcement, and volume 1 is under the Books link.

Go to the comic, click merchandise, and there it is.  There's even a deal on both volumes, both personalised.

Well, when I go to Topatoco and click QuestionableContent in the list of merchants on the left, I get the same page.    But I agree it's not on the Books page yet.

This is the one to get a Hanners' cover for!

If I could, I would get a personalized Hannelore cover with what introductory longer-haired Hanners (#515: Smokin' in the Boys' Room (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=515)) would look like with "current" Jeph art-style.

That, or a somber themed Faye & Marten (no Dora or Pintsize) cover signifying "The Talk."

From his twitter it seems that he has over 1000 personalisations to do just from the 24 hours or so they were being accepted.

I was going to order the book, but that has now been put on hold until it is clear Jeph won't be opening up the chance of a personalised drawing inside.

Got my personalization done in person.   :mrgreen:  And read through the whole thing once I got it home.

Hope Jeph's hand survives The Signinging.  Maybe he's developing those Popeye forearms -- or at least one of them . . .

I wear a TEH-shirt (to work) most weeks, but sometimes it's the old "Bomb the blogosphere" - however, that's much coarser cotton.  I also wear a Pintsize hoodie; but less than I did, because it's not all cotton and so gets a bit sweaty.

Can't wait to see what "personalization" Jeph is going to do for mine. Knowing my luck it'll be one of those big dick drawings. Of course perhaps i should have put something like "Anything but a cock drawing" in the instruction field of the order page but I didn't want to be like those people who fill out a gift registry.

My understanding was that Jeph would select the drawing and you could request the phrasing of the message.

Got my Vol. 2 in the mail. Got the requested personalization -- "You're not the worst in the forums!" -- and Jeph added a drawing of Winslow. Happy to support one of my favorite comics.

Also, I like the cover design. Dora looking at Marten with crafty smile while Marten and Faye appear to be eyeing each other uneasily (as you can see on the site) ... until you flip to the back cover ...

The Afterword has some really interesting material, like what the original plan for QC was, and the story of someone who was contemplating suicide when he read The Talk.

But no-one's mentioned the big misprint - the second panel of 570 is missing, replaced by a duplicate of the third...

I came to this thread wondering about the misprint in #420: panel three has the correct speech balloons, but under them is panel three of #421. But yeah, I have the 570 misprint, too. Actual layout/printing errors, or faithful reproductions of Jeph's source work that got messed up somehow? The right speech balloons over the wrong panel make me wonder if the latter.

We do have to remember that Topataco isn't a major publishing house that has 500+ people who do nothing but pore over every single manuscript, checking for errors.

It is odd that 420 in the book has the right speech balloons, but the wrong panel.

P.S. - the error in book one was with Strip 132.

Hell, even the major publishing houses with 500-plus people etc. etc. don't always do that well.

My favorite's the British first edition of Moby Dick - the one where the publisher forgot the afterward (after word?) that explained how Ishmail survives.  Caused critics to pan the book, and even though it was corrected in later American editions, Melville never saw decent sales before he passed away...
