So The AV Club threw this topic up to their editors (http://www.avclub.com/articles/childhood-scares,26455/) a few weeks ago and it seemed to be an interesting point of discussion as I (and I assume most of you) have had similar experiences with ridiculous or non-ridiculous things that shocking and disturbing.
Probably the most vivid memories I have of getting the bejeezus scared out of me as a child were from these dreams I would have, wherein a fleshy orb-thing with eyes getting stabbed with a sword, and a guy shooting light out of his mouth. These nightmares would leave me sobbing and trembling. It was only some 15 or so years later that I was surfing channels on the tele and suddenly found myself watching those nightmares on the screen. They were from Big Trouble in Little China (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yM3-YO7qHs), a classic 80's cult comedy that I was too young to understand as a fun movie.
Also like a lot of other people, cheesy horror films were absolutely terrifying to me as a young 'un. I couldn't sleep after seeing the beginning of Child's Play, where the gut-shot criminal stumbles onto the doll and dies.
As far as games are concerned, there was a sequence in Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego wherein a villain with a wind-up box and a monkey on his shoulder scrolled past on the screen. The music playing during that sequence scared the shit out of me.
Any such notable instances out there of being scared as a child by media?

Take a quote and stick it in the google translator, see what happens. I took a quote from the scout, translated it to japanese, then back again.
English: Yeah? Why don't you come over and say that to my face, tough guy? Bonk!
Japanese: Yeah? Why, to say is please come and see my face, I'm a tough guy? Sex!

That is all.

I suppose some mod should change this to a more descriptive title. Also, I wasn't sure if this should go here or in the movie thread:

There's a new Painkiller coming out, this one is titled Resurrection, by another different developer than the first two. In it you play a secret service agent, blown to bits by his own trap bomb, along with a bus full of civillians, so you end up in purgatory, where you kill demons. There's a video here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atoDnfP8TJ4), which shows a number of weapons from the original Painkiller, and also one from Overdose... We'll just ignore that one, alright? I think it could be pretty good. Do you?
And then there is Dreamkiller (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8fUrkGgEMM). From that trailer, it looked like an interesting game. I was expecting some sort of surreal adventure game, maybe a more serious Psychonauts from a first-person perspective. And then the trailer reaches. 0:57. What.

So, this was Jussi's idea, and as Jussi's ideas go, it's a pretty rad one. Everyone thats a part of PocketJury posts up a song that represents them/they're place in PocketJury/how they feel about PJ/that kind of thing. In the end we end up with a soundtrack which kinda' represents PocketJury.
So far we have:
Eric_Hamhands: The Aquabats - Super Rad! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIqLz6LqMsU)
cern_jon: Bitter Tears - Murdered

Most facebook games run the gamut of mafia wars, farm sims, and quizzes. I was wondering if there are any good facebook games, because lately, there haven't been any.

"AnthroPC" is not exactly a name, so let's allow other QC vocabulary such as "Malaysian Battle Spatula".
Bonus points if anyone can come up with a QC-themed anagram triple. An anagram triple has three phrases in a row that are anagrams for each other, like "to tape peat to teapot".
This is different from the old anagram thread because it involves putting two anagrams together, which means the anagram has to go with the original word or name somehow.
