Title: How to make a site that overlays an image or other content over another website?
Post by: FunkyTuba on 29 Feb 2012, 17:27
A while back one of Jeph's colleagues (keogh? north? willis? nedroid? other?) put up a site that when you fed it another url, it would overlay an explosion or something over the original site.

1) anyone remember that?
2) how is it done?

I want to do this with dcorsetto's Guy Breadmore (http://cdn.girlswithslingshots.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/GWS1342-ALTERNATIVE-more-bread.jpg) to have him lean in over the target website.

You mean something like goggles (http://goggles.sneakygcr.net/)?

I also noticed that Dinosaur Comics has the url modifier '&butiwouldratherbereading=' where you can use the parameter 'thelastdinosaurcomicever' (and I assume others as well, but I don't know about them) which gives you this (http://www.qwantz.com/index.php?comic=2151&butiwouldratherbereading=thelastdinosaurcomicever) instead of the regular comic. But unless this modifier can be used on other websites it's probably not what you're looking for.
