In comic number 2137 panel 3 there is a cute scientist with orange hair. I do not know why but she caught my interest. Do you think the hair is natural? What about her height? Is she some kind of super scientist who is only 13, or is she just that short?
I must say I am loving the station arc, it is funny, cute, and give good character development for all the people involved.
I think I might draw some fanart of the orange haired scientist, but I want to hear your opinions. What do you think her backstory is?
Edit: Wow I am an idiot. I missed this week's comic archive all together. I am so sorry!

Welcome, new person!
Apology accepted, but don't be hard on yourself. In fact, if you think of a way things could be explained better from the point of view of a new user, please PM your suggestion to me or another moderator.
Fanart of her would be cool.
Feel free to delete this thread if you want.

Actually I'd be interested to know about her backstory as well. ;D
Funnily enough, I get a kind of Isabella/Catleia-from-Advance-Wars vibe from her. Maybe she's a genius in one specific field of science, or she could be the subject of one of the scientists' experiments. If it's the latter, then judging by the comic, she was turned into some kind of super-soldier or has abnormal strength as a result of the experiments. :P

wait a minute... doesn't space make you taller? less gravity is exerted on the spine (Artificial gravity maybe works but i'm not sure of the mechanics behind that), fun fact, you "grow" about 5 cm when you sleep and it gets compressed when you get up.

It's Hakase from Nichijou.

Yes but it's probably more like 1-2cm rather than 5.
-
Akronnick's right. 5 cm ~ 2 in. None of my shirts would stay tucked in.
The difference is about 1/2 in, 1 - 2 cm. And artificial gravity would compress the discs in the spine just as well, unless it was fractional (80%, for example) earth gravity. Then you'd just get compressed less, standing taller at the end of the day.

Only if you are in zero-G. The station provides near 1G.

Child genius, shark sympathizer.

Welcome, new person!
That's a good one. The Fanart thread deserves a copy of it.
-
I don't think that's fanart.
-
It's not fanart, no. It's who the orange-haired child scientist is in the comic.
-
Which makes Jeph's version fanart. Does it go in the thread?
-
The fan-art thread was started with a view to Jeph taking the best of it to put on his site (which never happened). As his comics are already on his site, he doesn't need to take his own fan-art images (of which this is far from the first).
