Ray Bradbury, one of the great figures of science fiction, died during the recent transit of Venus.

Sad to see him go, but what an awesome legacy he left behind for us to enjoy!

Is he getting cremated?
Seriously, I love Ray Bradbury. He made my Sci-Fi module in my first year of University worth it just by reading Fahrenheit 451. It is a shame that he is gone, but as Patrick said, an awesome legacy was left behind. I find it funny that so many SF writers were actually correct in their propositions of a semi-dystopian future.

This made me really sad. :(
I took a class over speculative fiction for an English elective last semester, and most of the books were dull and/or stupid. But we read Something Wicked This Way Comes. And it was one of the few books I really enjoyed reading. The other books that were kind of fun also had a lot of issues (The Hunger Games...). But I had no problems with it. I read the whole thing and loved it. I laughed and sympathized and just thought it was all-around a great book. I'm really glad I got a chance to read one of his books before his passing. Rest in peace, you awesome author.

I love Something Wicked This Way Comes - easily one of my favorite books. Bradbury was such a fantastic author, I'm really sad he's gone. :(

The last of the masters have left us. Now who do we have to look up to?
*edit* I feel this would be an appropreate place to link to the "Fuck Me Ray Bradbury" video in his honor, but sadly school computers don't allow youtubing of any sort (but I can come here...go figure.) If you haven't seen it, go look for it. It's worth the watch and a cute song at that.
