Title: Book the Third?
Post by: drmike on 10 Oct 2012, 20:13
Greets:

I'm sorry to trouble folks about this but a quick scan of the forums show no discussion on this topic.  Been sitting here planning the Christmas budget and just was wondering if there's any plans for a third volume.  I;d have to check my dates but seems like we had them for the last two years for the holiday season.  At least that's when I picked them up. (ie when I had money)

thanks
-drmike

edit: I do see the wiki article but it gives a date of September 2012: http://questionablecontent.wikia.com/wiki/Questionable_Content_Volume_3

If you can bring yourself to watch Twitter closely you may find a shockingly brief window of opportunity to buy a personalized copy, which makes a superb gift.

Thanks for reminding me. Need to update that entry.

From Q&A Dump #51:

How’s QC volume 3 coming? When do you expect to release it, and will you be signing copies?

It should be on sale sometime this month, and I believe I will be doing another run of signed copies, assuming I can work up the gumption.

Thank you for the responses.  I;m sure autographed will be out of my price range though.

So where's the threads that I messed it in? :)

thanks again

There's no extra charge - you just have to catch the moment to order it.  Watch his Twitter, his Tumblr, and the notes under the comics (Jeph doesn't communicate through this forum, but you can be sure one of us will mention it as soon as it happens).

Yeah, some of us are pretty excitable that way.

No we aren't. Just because the third through fifth hits on my screen name in Google are "Questionable Content" related doesn't mean I'm OBSESSED.

If it's for a gift, have your ideas ready ahead of time. There probably won't be time to contact the recipient and ask who her/his favorite character is, for example.

How long has it been between books? I'm curious.

How long has it been between books? I'm curious.

A little over a year (13 months).

And guess what just got updated in the Wiki. (http://questionablecontent.wikia.com/wiki/Questionable_Content_Volume_3)

EDIT: I just figured something out. At the pace he's going, today's strips will probably be in dead tree format sometime in 2017.

Dead Tree Edition 3 just arrived via the mail today (whew! Managed to avoid getting a Hurricane-soaked special edition!).

Kinda bare-bones compared to the last two, but pretty neat overall.

Bare bones?  You mean in that the story was uneventful, or less commentary?

Not a lot of excess commentary, and not as much in the way of sketches (at least, not as much as we get now for current characters).

Then again, not as much really happened in 600-899 as in the first two segments of the strip, so...

Signed copies of book 3 are now available to order.  Strictly limited number (500) because of hand (!) - 40% of them had gone when I saw it this morning, so clearly they won't last long!

I ordered mine last night.

Going to be January for me the way the budget is.  Is planned though.

My signed copy arrived yesterday - I have a head and shoulders sketch of Hanners this time (to go with Marten in book 1 and Winslow in book 2).
