Hi,
I'm Jon, I've been reading QC for ages, but never come on to the forum.
So, yeah - Hi!
-
Hi, Jon! Anything you'd like to tell us about yourself?
Like maybe how you lost that "h" in a terrible accident or something? :-D
Oh, and welcome to the forums!
-
The 'h' was not lost in an accident - I was born without it! It's short for Jonathan, but most people call me Jon and I just kinda go with it.
About me.... I'm British (but it's not my fault, so don't hold it against me) and I'm in my final year at Oxford Uni (though I'm not as intelligent [or snobbish] as that makes me sound) studying Earth Sciences. I'm also bi and a Christian (and boy, wasn't that combination fun to sort out). I've been reading QC for about 3-4 years now, though I went back and read the earlier portions when I realised how much I loved it. I also read xkcd (obviously), Darths and Droids, Invisible Bread, and a British comic called Khaos (kind of a less funny, more depressing, but still very good version of QC)

All Earth Science students are welcome here.
Welcome!

Darths and Droids ftw!
There's a few Brits about; I am, for one. I think Barmymoo at least lives over here, but I don't know whether she calls herself British - for some reason I keep thinking she moved here not that long ago but can't for the life of me decide why I think that...

Plenty of Britons on this forum, so you won't feel in the slightest out of place.
and I'm in my final year at Oxford Uni
And I work in Oxford Uni, so that's very acceptable as well!

I love Britain! Its where the hats come from. The tiny haaaats... *Cough* Er, welcome to the forum sir.
-
Welcome, new person!
We're determined to make this a good place for new people as well as the regulars. If there's a bump in the road or if something doesn't make sense then feel free to PM a moderator and ask about it.
-
My God, what have I done? 8-)
CMoA FTW.
Oh, and by the way: unlike Hannelore, you do NOT have to read... ALL the posts...
-
You have done something that shall be considered a crime against the human race in your upcoming trials. How could you overuse a good gag like that? What did it ever do to you?

Colour me intrigued - whereabouts do you work in the uni?

Mainly, I manage the computers and servers for a clinical trials team called OCTO, which is in the Department of Oncology; but I sometimes do stuff elsewhere in the department. I sit in the Green Building on the Old Road Campus most of the time (before that building went up, I worked in the old Radcliffe Infirmary in the original awesome Georgian building).
