saw it on sunday. and yeah, pretty much ^this^
short review: it's a grand spectacle of an action film. go see it.
long review: posted here (http://technopotheosis.blogspot.com/2013/07/pacific-rim-movie-review.html)
one thing i rather dug was that they didn't feel the need to do an obligatory romance plot between the male & female heroes.
Reply to the above spoiler, dun click this till you see it guise
Huh? Totally looked like they were ready to rock on the "hook up" front at the end there. Ditto the whole "I've never thought about the future till now" *meaningful look* "but I've always had bad timing" sure it was subtle, but they were totally boning

yeah, i totally get where you're coming from, and there was definitely a sense of intimacy between them. but personally i read that as a result of being inside eachother's heads & sharing memories, rather than a sexual or romantic attraction.
basically while i could totally see the characters going on to do it after the end, but it wasn't actually in play during the film.
my ruling: no big cliched Hollywood kiss = no big cliched Hollywood romance
