Title: Hello, I am a new forum user
Post by: Mmeaninglessnamee on 22 May 2013, 12:57
Hello!

I've been reading QC for more than a year, and the comic discussion section of these forums for probably 8 months.

Umm, the first QC strip I read was 2160 http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2160 (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2160), in the middle of the space arc. I was linked to QC from XKCD, and apparently I liked something about that single strip, because I then went back several dozen comics and read the entire space arc and events regarding Padma leading up to it.
I then read through the entire achieve in the span of about two weeks. Whee!

Regarding AnthroPC's and weather they are noticeably robotic, I saw Momo with no introduction to her character in only one strip preceding the space arc at first, and did not notice anything different about her at all, so I'd saw they wouldn't be that noticeable walking down the street. (There are people who dye their hair brilliant colors, after all) (I just passed by Marigold mentioning a chassis as something I obviously didn't know the history of)

What else to say? My favorite Yelling Bird strip is 2156http://questionablecontent.net/2156 (http://questionablecontent.net/2156), the one about sea otters.

Oh, favorite characters!
Main Character: Hannelore
Secondary Cast: Sven
Supporting Character: Jimbo - I want to see Jimbo make a triumphant return to the crappy romance novel genre

Favorite story arcs: The space arc is definitely my favorite, though that may have to do with it being the first I read. I also like the drunk sledding arc and and the few strips with Faye and Sven singing Karaoke.

Anyone know if Sven's face from the alternate version of 1078 http://www.questionablecontent.net/1078wtf.png (http://www.questionablecontent.net/1078wtf.png) is taken for an avatar? [fifth panel]

Hmm, what else?
Anyone else here play the FPS Cube2: Sauerbraten [would that be a question for another board?]

Oh, I haven't talked at all about myself. I'm a Nineteen-year-old male college student in the American Midwest, studying architecture. I guess I didn't mention anything about myself earlier because I don't have much to say about myself.

Anyway, that's my long rambling introductory post. see you all on the comic caption contest thread if I can think of anything funny to add. If not, I usually don't have much I'd like to post about, but we'll see.

---

[addition after previewing] Anyone have any tips on how to make linked text that isn't a URL?

[Another last minute addition] My name comes from "Me" + "Meaningless Name", with "Meaningless name" put inside "Me" I personally pronounce it Muh-mean-ing-less-name-ee, but obviously pronunciation doesn't matter for a forum.

I've never heard of it myself, but you could try over in CLIKC (http://forums.questionablecontent.net/index.php/board,5.0.html)

Thanks for the warm welcome. Warm enough to melt my lug wrench apparently.  :psyduck:

(It's okay, I never used that thing.)

I'll also say that I really like the Psyduck emoticon, it was for a long time my favorite Pokemon. :psyduck:

Woha, wir hatten schon ewig keinen so langen Vorstellungspost.

Willkommen!

And I think the only active person person with a Sven avatar would be me.

Is there a shorter name by which we can call you?

For a shorter name, I don't mind just Mmean.

I've used variations of the name on other sites, varying with character limit, but Mmean is fine because all that really matters is that it's clear who you're referring to. (Not many people choose monikers starting with a double M) Yeah, looking at this topic compared to others, my name is quite long, isn't it.

I'll probably grab that Sven image for an avatar until I think of something better, because I don't share many characteristics with Sven, but the face I'm thinking of is great. Based on how much I plan on posting, (not much) I don't think anyone will mistake me for Loki.

It seems like I always type a lot in response to things, I only planned on two or three lines when I hit reply.

That is the case for me too if I have more than one or two thoughts to convey.

I do roleplaying-by-posting in another forum. It seems that whenever I mean to say "I try X to do Y, and then Z to try W", I embellish it to a point where it becomes three or four paragraphs.

I don't think people will mistake Lokis avatar with yours.
(http://forums.questionablecontent.net/index.php?action=dlattach;attach=8215;type=avatar) doesn't look much like (http://i.picresize.com/images/2013/05/23/sxFT.png)
(also I saved you the work of cropping!)

It's too big, it needs to be 100x100 max. Having said that though, I think it gets resized if it's bigger.

'Ello. I'm new, too - I've a feeling we'll get along just fine.

I can't pull any Welsh out on command, but have some English. Nothin' fancy, but serviceable.
