The best thing about this for me is that I had logged onto FB and saw Zach post a new SMBC comic, and immediately afterword came here and saw his guest strip.

I do. I have no idea why he calls it a votey but yeah.

It's a relic from when he was signed up with one of thoses publicity sites that ask people to vote for their favourite webcomic. Reward for a vote was a bonus panel. Eventually he just added those panels to the main site.

And yeah, I felt blueballed by the lack of votey.

I only know a couple people that don't have at least 5 open at a time, I have around 10 in a work window and 30 in a personal one, I'm sure I'll sort through the personal ones... eventually.

Same (tied with xkcd) and sort of. I did like how Dale was completely unfazed by the content of the tabs.

I have currently three tabs open, and that's about normal although I often have only one. Sometimes it gets to ten but that's a lot and I'd prefer to keep it under six (so that I can see them all at once; I have a narrow screen).

As a rule of thumb, I usually have three open at any given time, though I've gone to anything between 30-45. Some sites are easier to do that with than others... you can open Craigslist ads ad infinitum and your computer won't break a sweat. But there's times that I've been watching YouTube videos and gotten enough tabs open ("Hmmm. Looks interesting. Let me open that in a new tab and I'll watch it next") that I swear I can hear my computer weeping quietly to itself.

I usually keep it to 3-5 tabs. I always keep facebook open in the background despite my not so stellar social life. I used to have a really bad habit of having 10 or more tabs open at once but I've started just bookmarking everything I want to look at later instead of leaving it open forever.

That is some tough to read font.

I do, however, support Claire being a princess (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2397)

Good catch, I had forgotten that punchline-panel...  This guest comic was awesome.

So, who's willing to bet that Marigold is the butt of every comic this week?

I... I was joking...
Not every comic this week...

Thank goodness.  My being right about this would signify a major realignment of universal proportions...

I'm trying to decide if the middle two panels are what actually happened to May, or what Marigold imagined happening to May. I'm thinking the latter, because I can think of things much worse than hanging around C3PO for a few months.

She might, for example, have been forced to maintain Perez Hilton's website.  :psyduck:

"hememonic capitalism"? I find the word in Google, but no definition, although I might work out a definition from contexts.
Kel McDonald is slightly dyslexic, so I guess it was meant to be "hegemonic".

Wow.  Comic 2749 was actually very cute.  Good job!  Normally the guest comics go straight for Yellingbird/Pintsize jokes.

Meh.  She strikes me as being a thirteen-year-old, which means she's probably lying about getting away with anything.  She really seems to lack enough guile or cunning.
That does open up an interesting question.  If we could 'reprogram' people prone to antisocial behavior (beyond drug addiction), would it be immoral?  What if they volunteered as an alternative to prison?  What if they volunteered knowing it would have no impact on their sentence?

Those questions have been explored in Babylon 5, in particular the season three episode "Passing Through Gethsemane". It's complicated really.

Might that not look like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy? Not "reprogramming," as such, but it also manages to avoid the ethical issues inherent in literal reprogramming of a sentient being's mind.

In the past we had chemical castration as an alternative for homosexuals like Alan Turing case. Now sometimes it is used for rapists and child sex offenders.

I'd argue that it *is* reprogramming.  Just the voluntary sort.  I've endured[1] rounds of both CBT and exposure therapy, and am glad for it.  I got kicked out of the programme due to my shitty insurance company[2] only halfway through, and I should have kept up with the exercises better, but it was the kind of reprogramming that *I* wanted, and since I gave absolutely full consent to.

[1] I say endured, 'cos it sucked.  I knew I needed it, and when it got to be too much where I had to retreat and take a Lorazepam, I could do that without losing it too much.  But all in all, I'm glad I got some reprogrammers to work on my mind, even if it was difficult.

[2] Not only did they cancel my policy the next month, without appeal because my payment was registered as 2 days "late" (wonder how fucking long it was sitting there), they refused to pay for about $10k US that had previously been approved when I entered the programme.  In fact, they knew exactly what it would cost from the beginning, but they fucked me, and I couldn't afford to sue them for the kind of money that means that I'll never have to work again.

Yes, but 'Death Of Personality' wasn't perfect even then as proven by that episode.

Still, I suppose it's better than what Garibaldis just shove 'em out an airlock policy.

That's not 3PO, it's his 'Clone' brother.

Jeph said that AnthroPCs can download software patches that change their personality. It's possible that some of them find jail preferable to loss of self.
